Still my favorite yarn shop, even though I don't live in Sacramento area anymore. Babetta and Maya are always friendly and helpful. The place is relaxed and there is plenty of room inside and out for knitting. Kid-friendly. Good classes. Lots of wonderful yarn and plenty of model garments on display to demonstrate the yarn and to get ideas. I love that Babetta is plugged into Facebook and I can still feel like I am there.
This shop is one of my favorites. Danielle and her staff are very friendly. I have never been there when the place wasn't full of knitters, hanging out, knitting and chatting. I would rate this as #1 in Most Welcoming LYS. Even the customers are friendly. There is an ever-changing supply of yarn. I am so sorry that I no longer live in the area.
This is a very pretty store. I agree that the yarn displayed by color is beautiful but challenging. I often find a yarn that I like, then wander the store looking for a different color. I found that service was a bit "cold" when I was a new knitter and stranger to the shop. I do like the events and classes offered and have had a lot of fun when I attended a class. I would recommend newcomers to try it again if you live in the area. A LYS is a great place for community and this shop works to build their community.
This is a tiny shop brimming with some great yarn, roving, books and accessories. The shop is very cute and encourages browsing. Lots of Cascade basics and a good supply of my favorite Noro yarns. The shop doesn't have good space for hanging out with friends and knitting, but Port Townsend has tons of great coffee houses nearby.
