Great selection - don't miss that wall of Koigu! I had to sit down and just breathe the fumes! ;)

Lovely ladies who run this shop. They are very pleasant and knowledgable about what they have. Enjoyed my too-short visit and hope to return the next time I'm in town.

Loved this shop - very friendly without being overbearing. Great selection - beautiful yarns. Love their unique yarns from local dyers.

about The Little Knittery on Sun Feb 22 23:49:42 -0600 2009

Nice little yarn shop with a small, but beautiful selection. The gals in there definitely made me feel welcome - and I found a couple of skeins of cashmere that will go home to Texas with me for a reasonable sum.

Again, the only complaint I have is the lack of pricing on the skeins. Even if it was just a tag on the side of the bin, that would be helpful. Otherwise, I loved it.

about Abuelita's Knitting & Needlepoint on Sun Feb 22 23:58:57 -0600 2009

I was just so-so on this place - The selection was nice, but didn't find anything "different" here. It may have been the day - it IS L.A. and the Oscars were tonight - but when I heard the person who was working behind the counter say, "I'd like to close up to get ready to see the Oscars but all these people keep coming in here," I didn't especially feel welcome. (Her tone didn't make it seem like a joke - but I don't know her and it could have been.) I took my cue and left, though.

I did find some wonderful yarn in the sale bins out on the sidewalk. It was cash only so I couldn't get as much of it as I wanted due to my own lack of foresight.

about Jennifer Knits on Sat Feb 21 12:31:04 -0600 2009

Just dropped into Jennifer's for a few minutes this morning while here on vacation. Great selection of yarn and Buttons galore! The owner and her staff were just delightful and helpful with my questions. They will make a pattern for you for anything you might need as long as you buy the yarn there...and are willing to customize it to your size. There's a sign up board when you walk in the door and you can sign up for help with patterns or help with purchases. Pretty cool little system they have there.

The only thing I didn't like was that the yarn is not priced. Possibly due to being in an area of town where price is usually not an object - but when I asked for prices, they were happy to give them to me without making me feel like the poor girl who had to ask. :) I'd definitely go there again.

about TWIST, YARNS OF INTRIGUE on Mon Jul 14 11:42:18 -0500 2008

On my recent trip to CA, this (and another in Santa Monica) have become my absolute must-stops for much needed yarn therapy while visiting the in-laws. Definitely worth the drive from anywhere in the LA/OC/SD area! Cathy is a sweetheart - and has beautiful yarns - both commercial and her own. I can't wait to set up a visit to work in that dye area!! Proof Positive that a small yarn shop can carry some of the best quality yarns and notions.

Very nice shop - beautiful yarns and displays. Tea part seemed like an afterthought - but could be made into much more.

about Knitting Under The Influence of Nancy on Sun Jan 11 18:22:42 -0600 2009

Absolutely delightful little yarn store in an area that was desperately in need of a yarn store. Great selection of beautiful, quality yarns. Nancy is a wonderful owner and we immediately felt welcome in her place.

Can't wait to go back!
