I too disagree with SueEllen, I found the Unraveled Sheep store to be very charming and will definitely be back. I had my first visit to the store this weekend to use a gift certificate a friend had gotten me for Christmas. Yes, the shop is very full (some may say cluttered - not me), but that's what I loved about the place because that means that I should be able to find anything I want and my visit this weekend did not disappoint. For Christmas my husband bought me a spinning wheel and of course I've used it every day since until I ran out of fiber to spin. I decided to use the gift certificate and see if by chance they had fiber to spin. When I went into the shop, there were several people making purchases so the woman behind the counter was very busy, but she still took the time to smile and welcome me as I came in. I wondered around for a little while and even though she was tied up, she asked if she could help me find something. I mentioned that I was looking for fiber to spin and she pointed me to the section they keep their roving in. I was admiring the roving, but being a fairly new spinner I had some questions about which one to get. When the lines had gone down, the lady came over to help me. I asked my questions and she made a couple of suggestions, but admitted that she was not a spinner so she could only answer cursory questions. She then brought over a customer who had just before professed she didn't work there, but was happy to help since she was there all the time. The customer and I had a lovely chat about the different roving and all of my questions were answered. I ended up buying several braids of roving and of course bunches of yarn I really didn't need, but fell in love with. All in all I found this to be a great shop with lots of very friendly and helpful people. One of my new favorite stores to go just hang out in on the weekend.

If you want to learn to knit/crochet, or if you would like to just sit and do your own project...Unraveled is the place to go. There is a very friendly atmosphere in the store any and every time that you will visit. Verla, the owner, is beyond patient and VERY helpful if you want or need any kind of help...whether you are a "very" beginner. or if you just need some help to understand a pattern.

I totally disagree with "SueEllen". I have never been to their bathrooms that they were dirty. And...there are things on the counters sometimes...but, it is never "junk". the store is NOT dirty or dusty.. Allergies can stem from all of the fibers that yarn tend to have. Especially when there is wool, alpaca, angora and other animal fibers that the yarns are made from.

I don't know anyone that I have ever talked with that has not felt that Unraveled is one of the nicest most friendliest yarn places of in our City. =)

best regards,

Enjoyed the customers, the service BUT the shop was filthy and the bathroom had not been cleaned in monthes. When I went to purchase my items the counter was full of crap. I barely knew where to put my items. Dust everywhere. Would not recommend the shop to anyone with allergies or enjoy a clean environment.

Unraveled Sheep has been really helpful with my first project... a blanket for the baby we are expecting in March. I learned how to cast on standing by the cash register! Thanks for being such a great little shop. Look forward to making at least one more visit before we have to leave Sandy, Utah for home...

Over a year ago, while visiting Salt Lake City,I stopped in to knit at Unraveled Sheep. Verla, guided me along with my fingerless glove project. She found an easy pattern for me. She even cast the yarn onto the tiny cable needle for me. It was great. Once back in Michigan, I completed one glove but never did finish the other. What I really need is an Unraveled Sheep in my little town. Sandy, Utah is fortunate to have such a quality knit shop, run be a couple of very talented ladies.

Friendly, and welcoming to an out-of-towner. Thursday night is open knit night--very nice group.

Excellent yarn selection. Good sale yarns.

A definite place to enhance the stash.

A Unraveled Sheep (their grammar error, not mine) is possibly the friendliest yarn store I have ever entered. They have snacks and welcome everyone to partake. They have couches and a table to sit at and knit. The employees are always welcoming and open, readily willing to chat and laugh. It's a marvelous place and I always try to take what chance I can to visit.

The Unraveled Sheep is a great place to drop in and knit with a group.
