Notes
The Woolery Mammoth is the happy beginning for me after diagnosis, surgery and treatment for primary peritoneal cancer. I may have lost my job, but now I have the life I thought I would never have. I now have time for knitting, the hobby I have loved but had little time for. I was able to bring my love of fibers and hand crafts together here in Eureka, Montana. The community here has welcomed and supported me and my ideas and I expanded my inventory to include spinning and weaving supplies as well.
We now have a good group of spinners who meet on Thursdays from 1-4 pm. We have Sock Sunday, from 2-4 pm, where you can be a beginner or advanced, there's always something fun going on. There are also classes on varying subjects on Tuesdays from 5-7 pm. Call for the latest class info. I like to teach beginners 1 on 1, call for an appointment. Of course, you are always free to "drop in", anytime, for talk, camaraderie and advice on patterns and directions.
For our yarns, we have a huge selection of really beautiful yarns. We carry Montana made yarns from small companies, things you'll not find elsewhere. I love to knit socks, so I can't resist bringing in something I haven't seen before. In all I have over 10,000 skeins of yarn in the shop, about 1/3 are machine washable.
For spinning, we have roving and top, mostly undyed, so you can dye before you spin or after. Usually there is plenty of wool, alpaca and mohair. Currently I have a black corriedale, blue faced leichester, the remainder is a mix of breeds. There's always small amounts (less than a pound) of dyed roving - great for needle felting or small spinning projects.
Then, to round it all our, we carry Schacht and Majacraft spinning wheels, Schacht looms, Addi Turbo and Lace knitting needles. There are usually a few spinning wheels and looms available to try out.
