What can I say? No one spoke when I went in even though store was full on a Saturday afternoon. There was a small spinning group in the front of the store, a knitting group in the middle with a table full of knitters, and in the very back I saw a group making baskets. There was even a lady setting up a loom. Very interesting place even through it seemed a little dingy. Selection was somewhat limited with more acrylic than I like. There was a little cashmere and mink and some dusty nice lace weight. Books were old but that was good because I found an OOP Kevin Ford "Shearing Day." My find of the day was a pound of very nice cotton sliver at $15 a pound. When I checked out the sales lady and I had a nice chat. I am happy with my finds.

Looking for private lessons to beginning crochet. Haven't done any in 20 years...Just want to get started. Price is no problem. Any one available?

EXCELLENT shop! Great and welcoming staff, friendly regulars who welcomed me into their knitting group, gorgeous and wide selection of yarns, beautiful spinning fibers. Cannot praise them enough!

Best part of my trip to Arizona last year! I got some great stuff on sale, and the staff were friendly. They even offered a discount if it rained where any of the staff lives. So I got a percentage off (exactly what percentage don't remember) for the rain. How awesome is that?

Love, love, love The Fiber Factory. The staff is wonderful and they have an extensive selection. They are also very knowledgeable (just look at their massive class list!) and always are ready to help. They are truly my favorite LYS.

No, I don't work there. I wish I did! Or maybe not, I wouldn't have a paycheck...I'd owe them money.

Great selection of yarns (fiber types and colors). There were weaving supplies galore - from roving to spindles to spinning wheels to looms, followed by shelves and bins of beautiful yarns, ranging from synthetics and bargain finds to some rather pricey and exquisite skeins. There were buttons and decorations and a very large library of books, magazines and patterns. There was also a large selection of knitting needles and almost all sizes of crochet hooks. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend stopping by the Fiber Factory when you're in Mesa/Phoenix.

I came in while they were in the process of moving (6/2007), not much to see, everyone was really busy but it sure seems like it's going to be a great place for all things fiber!

Fiber Factory has a great selection of yarns and fibers for spinning. I love natural fibers and they seem to love them too. They have hand painted sock yarns that are really amazing, linen, hemp and beautiful cottons. They do have acrylic yarns for those that want itm and lots of wool too. They have knowledgable staff, that have always been very helpful. They have interesting classes, like a guy that does historic netting and knotting classes. I took a really fun cotton lace knitting class, also a help with projects class. They have even helped me with a project that I purchased the yarn somewhere else, and they did it for FREE. Customer sit, work on project and/or just hang out. It's a fun place with a sense of humor. Ask for chocolate they usually have some and are willing to share. I would highly recommend the store to the beginner or long time expert knitter.
