I was travelling with my best fibre friend and fellow knitter on the Coral Princess and we were both very excited and pleased to meet Melissa.
We loved the shop and Melissa. We could have purchased any of the comercial brands available to us in Toronto Ont but we purchased locally dyed (by Melissa) qiviut blend yarn. Melissa gave us a pattern with whale tail themed lace stitch pattern and even let me hold and pet her beautiful little dog.
I would recommend her and the shop to all travelling knitters. As a member of The Toronto Knitters Guild I will be happy to spread the word there.
Hope her foot is well enough for her to participate in the marathon run later this year.

This is a very nice shop with a great selection of yarn. I had heard about the shop and the line of Hand Dyed yarn from 'A Tree Huggers Wife'. I later learned this was the shop owner. The yarn was lovely and it was difficult to limit my selection to a few skeins. With an undergraduate degree in Forestry I loved the name but the yarn will be a nice souvenir of my Alaska trip.

In the 'regular' yarn there was everything from Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift (a favorite), Kauni, Noro and many other lovely things. This shop (on the second floor) is well worth a visit.

What a lovely shop! I went in with my Mum one day, did some shopping and had hoped to take some pictures (my local shop here in Massachusetts wanted me to take pictures). A family emergency called us away before I could. Luckily, we were staying in town for the week and I got to go back the next day. They were so gracious and welcoming the second time. I got my photos!

It was such a pleasure to discover Melissa's shop during my one day in the area. Her selection is marvelous and she is so helpful! Just the kind of small business I love to support.

I was in Juneau via cruiseship & made the difficult decision of sightseeing on a tour vs. a trip to the wool shop. Not about to miss out on wool from AK, I phoned Seaside Yarns & told Melissa what I was looking for & sent a friend to the shop. When my friend arrived, Melissa had everything ready to go! She had even researched my patterns mentioned off of Ravelry to make sure it was perfect! I was so impressed with her help & only wish I'd had the chance to make it into the shop! If only everyone was as accommodating as Melissa there would be a revolution!!! Thank you again!!!

Found this place while on an Alaskan Cruise. What a cute store! It is organized in such a fashion that makes it easy to find things but is not overwheming. The owner has many projects going of her own so it feels like home. She was very helpful and sensitive to my needs. Wish it was closer.

LOVED it!! everything is easy to find, and there's just one beautiful stash of yarn after another! I LOVE how the shop is organized, and the owner is so sweet and helpful - not hovering over us as we shopped but completely available for all our questions, even after we got back home and emailed! I wish, wish, wish we lived in Juneau now!!! we'll definitely be shopping via email, though!
