Came across this cute yarn store while my husband & I were exploring the area. Wendy, the owner, was so welcoming and so were the other ladies that were showing up for their Thursday Knit Night. They even invited me to join them. Wish I could have but we were on our way home and had a schedule to keep. The selection of yarns was great and I had a hard time deciding what to buy. I highly recommended you to stop by and check out LYS.

The best yarn shop in the area. Fantastic classes, nice rotation of seasonal yarns and great year round selection. The group that meets on Thursdays from 5-8 is very welcoming to any newcomer, if you are a knitter, crocheter, weaver, etc bring your project and be welcomed!

Wendy, the owner, is a sweetheart. She is a talented knitter, with infinite patience for beginners. The Thursday knit-night is full of lovely people, and the classes and workshops offered here are very high quality. This is a great shop with lots of space in a super location!

This place is GREAT. Wendy knows absolutely everything there is to know about yarn. She's more than willing to do special orders for us and she will do whatever it takes to make sure her customers are happy. The selection of yarn has some great constants and an excellent rotating selection of seasonal and specialty yarns as well. The Kettle Dyed sock yarn is probably the most beautiful sock yarn I've seen in ages.

Five stars. Stopping in here is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. The world would be a much better place if everyone in retail was as nice as the staff here.

Debbie responded to my concerns. She offered suggestions on how I would be able to make the pattern work. I'm looking forward to starting my project. I appreciate the staff at Lancaster Yarn Shop for th support provided.

Hi
I was in Strasburg November 4. My friend and I cycled throughout the area. I stopped at the Lancaster Yarn Shop. The shop was charming. I bought yarn and a pattern. I noticed the pattern is for medium women although I discussed making socks for my friend.

Does anyone know how to enlarge a pattern????

I go here whenever I am in town and I'm always welcomed with open arms despite the fact that I am a crocheter. I wandered on one evening after having finished one of the local corn mazes and it has been kn my list of places to stop in since

Everything I was going to say about this shop has already been said, and better than I could put it at that! The atmosphere is fantastic in an old house that just has so much charm. Wendy and her oldest daughter were there and gave us the warmest greeting and we had a great conversation with them while perusing the beautiful selection they had. Wendy is really knowledgeable and so warm and friendly that my mom and I were bummed we had missed out on a chance to spend more time with her the night before during their regular knit night!

Side note - Wendy saw us in our car looking at our map shortly after and asked where we were off to next. When we told her we were looking for a brewery she recommended a great local one that was fantastic! Yet another reason to love this place.

Stopped by on vacation recently and had a wonderful time at this yarn shop!

The selection of this shop was extremely interesting! A lot of yarn that I did not see at my local yarn shops. Service was absolutely wonderful (above and beyond really).

I will definitely stop by again if I make it anywhere near the area!!

I found this shop while my mom and I were visiting Lancaster for a mother-daughter vacation. I almost didn't drop in but I'm glad I did. I love their selection of fibres and the knowledgeable and helpful staff (Wendy is a gem).

I especially love their ty-dy sock yarn selection and their kettle dyed fibre from Uruguay.

Lancaster Yarn Shop will forever be on my must visit list when I travel through the area!

I found Lancaster Yarn Shop when I stayed in that area for an extended period due to family illness. In a very stressful time I found it to be a haven for me. I was able to stop there and at the downtown location several times.

What a warm inviting atmosphere! Wendy has a great selection of yarn. I especially liked the yarn she carried from local spinners and indie dyers. Everyone was very helpful and let me browse to my heart's content.

The store is located in a beautiful old house with a great deal of ambience and charm. It's right in Kitchen Kettle Village so you could make an entire day out of a visit there.

I would definitely recommend visiting the Lancaster Yarn Shop if you are anywhere in the area! Thanks to Wendy and everyone there for all of your help and listening to my woes!

Must knit now,

Phyll

The warm welcome of unconditional acceptance that emanates from Lancaster Yarn Shop reaches out and gives everyone who enters a giant hug.

Yes, the shop is filled with a wonderfully displayed selection of exquisite yarns, a wide assortment of needles, knitting accessories, beautiful buttons, art, pottery and all of the other items one would expect to find in a yarn shop of this caliber.

And, of course, shop owner, Wendy and each of her talented staff have patience of the supernatural variety and thoroughly enjoy alleviating our complicated pattern woes and missed stitch frustrations.

But the bottom line for me is that, without fail, every time I visit Lancaster Yarn Shop I feel better all the way down to my core after my visit than I did before I arrived.

You know that feeling you get when the planets align, and you suddenly find yourself having a really great day? That’s the real treasure you will find at Lancaster Yarn Shop!

Unbelievably warm atmosphere with wonderfully kind and talented staff. When I walk into the Lancaster Yarn Shop (LYS), I feel like it's Christmas morning - There are some many gorgeous yarns to choose from and fun pieces of art, needles, pottery! It's definitely worth a trip in and the staff is more than happy to help with picking out yarn, finding patterns and colors and helping work through problems with your knitting and crocheting. Make time to stop and tell them Lauren says hello!!

If you want to go an LYS that knows how to welcome visitors, this is the one. I felt right at home. The atmosphere is unbelievable, a great energy. Right off the bat I was invited for the Thursday Knit Night and I took them up on the offer and had a great time and met some awsome knitters. If you are in the Amish Country, do not miss this great LYS and tell them that Laura sent you.

Peace,
Laura
