Lambikins is a bit of a drive for me but oh, so worth it!

This is a great yarn shop in a historic building with a super selection, and a very friendly, helpful staff!

I came upon this store and it does have a wonderful selection and many knitted garments as examples of the various yarns. Many, many high quality yarns in a good array of colors. At first, I was very excited as a beginning knitter and signed up for the Einstein Coat class. I was concerned because I was at the point of "been there-done that" with scarves, hats etc and needed to make the leap to a more complicated project to move on. The staff person assured me that the Einstein coat was just knitting so what could be easier? Part way into the class, I was going into the store several times a week to get help and sometimes they had time to help me and sometimes they didn't. I came to the conclusion that even though the pattern was just knitting, there were quite a bit of construction techniques that were beyond the beginning knitter. I felt that if I was going in that often for help, the project was too difficult for me. I ended up throwing out expensive Lopi wool because it wouldn't pull out when I abandoned the project (and the class). I was angry that the staff person misrepresented how much skill was involved to make this coat successfully, despite the fact that I was quite clear as to my skill level. I was left feeling disapppointed and unsure of my ability to even knit. I will never go there again because the experience just left me with a bad feeling. If you aren't concerned about classes or are an experienced knitter, I do give the shop high marks regarding selection and quality.

I love this store, I always start here when looking for a new project. There are tons of books and patterns, so it's easy to find the perfect project.

The selection is amazing, especially the Malabrigo and the variety of sock yarns.

I adore this store. Whenever I go there, I can't help but to touch everything and buy WAY more then I need to. There is a nice selection of natural fiber yarns and the staff is always really helpful.

Large store in quaint old building. The owner is dear and intelligent and the staff is the best -- they will help you, in person, on the phone, or over the internet.
Great selection! And some cross stitch and needlepoint, too.

I love, love this shop. They carry absolutely everything you could ever want in a yarn store. Tons and tons of needles, and a bajillion different sock yarns. They always have enough yarn for an entire project, special orders are handled well but seldom necessary as the yarn is already there!
