Store was sold several years ago to Heather who is a great store manager. She is very, very helpful when you come in with a question or need help with a knitting project. Her staff is equally helpful and knowledgeable. And, I love her yarns! She started the Steel Valley Yarn Crawl five years ago to encourage shopping at other local yarn shops in the Pittsburgh area. And, if you go there, she'll gladly point out good places to eat. She knows how important it is to help local businesses.

Went once - won't be back. Website warns she might not be there - and she wasn't. Went to another store and went back, she did eventually show up. Yarn selection was not great and all high priced. I can see from the other reviews she doesn't have much of a fan club.

Great shop! Lots to see and enthusiasm abounds. Carol was most helpful. She tries to do it all, even when she's busy. I'll return on my next visit.

I recently visited Carol's shop and found her to be most helpful in finding a yarn that had been discontinued. She was very busy and yet had time to show me color cards. I think some people forget that she's doing this all herself and one has to be patient. And the customers who were present seemed very happy to wait their turn.

I've visited, and I won't be back. there's nothing in the store I wanted to buy, and I wasn't impressed by how the brand new sock knitter ... in a class! ... was left to her own devices and then scolded for her mistakes

Not sure what the exceptional customer service is but I haven't seen it. Carol has been known to locals as "The Yarn Nazi" and seems to be strict about who can do what. If you're looking for adventure, this is not your place.
