This store is a shadow of it's former self. The staff IS very nice. However, the store is tiny. Not even tiny. Really, it's a space of about 6' x 6'. The selection is very tiny. If you are looking to get more than a single skein of anything, you probably won't be able to. What is there IS quite nice, but it's random, based on what the owner finds interesting, rather than making project quantities available. Very limited selection of standard yarns. There are some nice spinning fibers, in a reasonable sized selection (most yarn stores don't carry much spinning fiber, so that's to be expected). I don't fault the owner. Yarns stores as businesses are near-impossible. This one is clearly her hobby. If you don't mind a small and somewhat interesting selection, go ahead and stop in. But don't expect to go on a shopping spree.

This is one of my favorite yarn shops. We always stop on our way out to Tilghman Island. Big, comfy man-chair for my husband and lots of beautiful yarn and samples for me to browse. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Looking forward to my first visit once the yarn I ordered comes in. We will drive to the store from Southern New Jersey. Met some of the ladies at the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. They were very nice and helpful.

The store changed ownership a while back and it's better than ever! More selection, more rooms to sit, and still the friendliest staff!

We were in Easton Maryland on vacation and stopped into a local shop there without much luck but drove a little further over to St. Michaels and discovered this wonderful shop. Friendly from the moment we walked in, we stayed and chatted for a bit, found some wonderful yarn, and were even invited to stay for a knit night the following day. I wish my vacation had been a few days longer as I would have loved to have gone. I'll have to make sure for next time!

You guys need to change this page to indicate that you are open on Sundays. I was planning on coming to the Yarn Crawl and would have missed you on Sunday....

Very nice store in historic St. Michael's. Selection is a little mixed. There's not much in the way of basics, but they do have a very nice selection of really goooood stuff. Tons of Blue Heron, also a lot of Noro, Sublime, Filatura, and more. Come prepared to spend money - you will want to! The staff could not be nicer! The lady working the day that I came was not only friendly, but took the time to speak to my ten year old son and even let him help her wind a ball of Blue Heron! There are quite a few tools and pattern selection is outstanding.

The store features a comfortable couch to sit and browse patterns on, as well as a table to work at.

While I'm not usually a fan of shared-space yarn stores, this store does it very well. The yarn is given a full section and a large one. The other items (pottery, soap, and decor) are also interesting (and tempting!). I will definitely return to this store in the future.

A cute little yarn store in the historic town of St. Michaels, Maryland. Frivolous Fibers boasts the largest selection of Blue Heron Yarns, hand-dyed in nearby Easton, Maryland. For the size of the store, they do have a very good selection of yarns, hooks, needles and other accessories. There was no where to sit and relax except for one large table with chairs but they do make the best use of the space they have. The ladies in the store were so very, very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a trip to the store if you're out on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
