When I need a fix, this is the place! Kind of a "if they don't have it, you don't need it" kind of a place with a very helpful and welcoming staff - and customers!
Guys, this isn't one of those yarn shops where they stop and stare at you because you're a guy. While the welcoming mood is definitely set by the owner and staff, the old bank building lends a masculine balance to the energy - so you won't feel your masculinity draining away - LOL

The Birch Tree Gallery has become a favorite stop while visiting family in the Soldotna area! They have a large selection of needles and patterns and, while they don't have a huge selection of yarn, we've never "not found" what we were looking for, nor have we ever left empty handed. Found myself in Houghton with a broken needle when a friend directed me to Sew Irresistible. I was immediately greeted and they had exactly what I needed - a double pointed birchwood needle. While I was in a bit of a hurry, the selection looked quite appealing. And, as a guy, I have to say that the woman who assisted me, made me feel very welcome. Thank You!
