Visited while on vacation in Seattle. Within walking distance of most hotels in downtown & Space Needle. Friendly & very helpful staff & good selection of yarn. I bought a nice selection of "souvenir" yarn!
I am surprised at maddygreen's experience. It's been many years since I've been to NOLA but in my visits years ago (my daughter lived in Baton Rouge from 98-03) I was treated very well at the Quarter Stitch. Do they still wrap your yarn in colorful tissue paper & then put in a cleat cellophane bag tied closed with curly ribbon? It was such a lovely whimsical touch! My daughter's family is back in BR & I look forward to visiting Quarter Stitch.
Dez Crawford - ah a blast from the past! I have a booklet with small knitting projects around here somewhere that I think you wrote. I knit a market bag in crochet cotton with size 4 needles from it. Will have to find that. I actually knit it years ago on the return trip after visiting my daughter in BR. They are back living there again & I will try to make it to your shop when we visit for MG! )I don't drive so am at the mercy of non-knitters for rides) Maybe I'll see you Friday! (we are visiting because the kids get off school next Mon & Tues for MG.
Love this shop - great yarn, nice staff. One thing I like is they have a wide range of yarns including some nice acrylics. I too love the furry ambassador. There used to be an ice cream parlor next door on one side & a bead shop on the other. Heaven! (ice cream shop moved & is across the street in the next block now)
