As my darling grandaughter Sequoia, daughter-in-law and son live in Eugene, I make the short 550 mile drive several times a year. And EVERY time, I have to stop at Soft Horizons - one of the best LYS I've had the joy of visiting.
The staff are invariably helpful, and they give you space to pet the yarn and make your choices without feeling pressured. Amazing variety of yarns, as well as roving, and the prices are fair - great yarn is expensive!

Lovely store, helpful and warm staff, great selection, though most of the yarns are on the higher end of the spectrum. They offer lots of classes and Thursday evening sit-and-knit - which I will attend one of these days!
