The best selection of needles in the bay area. Also very comfortable; I've come in just to sit on their couch while fixing a bit of lace knitting gone astray.

The best yarn selection in the bay area, and nice staff to boot. My only complaint is that the weekday hours are not friendly to people who don't live in San Francisco proper; I wish they stayed open late one day a week like most shops.

A lovely place to sit and knit.

This is the place to go for obscure yarns that were discontinued a year ago. The staff are very nice, but I do second the idea that the shop is too overpacked to be entirely comfortable.

ETA: it's not simply being overpacked, it's really that there are stacks of half-opened cardboard boxes on the floor, which gives you the unpleasant feeling that if you can't find what you're looking for, it might be because it's there but just not unpacked yet. Regardless, again, it's a lovely store and the staff are very nice.
