Great little store with lots of yarn to choose from. They have a lot of things I cannot get at home. They are actually quite easy to find in a little strip mall just off of a main highway. I've been in this store many, many times and the owners always take time to stop and talk with my entire family. I've also seen them spend a great deal of time with other customers including those just stopping in while on a beach vacation or locals who come in all the time.
One of the oldest and the best yarn shops in Columbia area. They have so much yarn! I never leave empty handed. The shop owner is fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. The only down side is that the store has very limited hours due to the owner (who is the only employee) have serious health concerns that prevent her from opening full time. She has a very loyal following who are perfectly happy to shop on the couple of days per week the store is open. Also, there is not a good selection of needles and notions, but that's not a big deal for me. I have all that and am more interested in the yarn.
I was very disappointed in this shop. The yarn selection is pretty much standard with any other shop--not much that I can't find at any other store. The staff were not very helpful. They greeted us when we went in but then seemed to disappear. I get to Columbia fairly often, but I doubt that I'll shop here again.
They have a fantastic collection of yarn, but I did not feel at all welcome in this store. It seems they dote on their regulars but pay very little attention to the new faces. At least that's the impression I got. Parking is also terrible for this store since it is downtown Charleston. One visit was plenty for me.
Fabulous store! Jennifer, the owner, is delightful. She is incredibly helpful and welcoming. The store has a nice selection of yarn and other fiber art related supplies and equipment.
