This is the first Yarn Shop I have found in my area - I always find their sample knits and yarn w/ pattern's available to be lovely & making me want to knit them all. The staff here is really quite helpful and got me started with some online knitting sites as well. I just haven't been for a knit night yet - but I plan to!

I stopped by here after finding it on the Guild page...the woman in the store was super helpful. Giving me tips on past projects I had been doing. Also some very cool yarns I had not seen before.

Checked it out the first time the weekend of the Fibre Arts show...so I met the husband and he was great - talked my ear off! I'll be back to check it out... I didn't buy anything because I was going to check out the show!

Wasn't that impressed by service - but the yarns were amazing - things I had never seen before - sugar cane yarns?!?! gorgeous...loads of needles & buttons etc too.

Loved this place! Didn't buy anything though as I was spending too much money on my trip. But must have had 3 ladies offer to help me, they told me if I buy a skein they will wind it into a ball for me, it was a place that I definitely wanted to go to a knit night!!! Would go back for sure!!

Found this cute shop nestled away in the cutest part of Nanaimo - they didn't even know they were on knitmap!
I drooled over many amazing yarns but as my stash is getting out of hand I opted to buy some beautiful buttons instead.
Service was good, it was a good vibe everyone coming thru the doors was greeted by name so obviously they have a lot of returning clientele!

First shop I visited on the island. Not a whole lot of variety. I did find some Patons that I needed to complete a gift for a friend, and some lovely icelandic lopi....the woman in the shop was a sweetheart, but there was not a lot of yarn in the shop that was screaming my name. I struggled more to find something to buy than to walk away. Lots of acrylic here.

Small shop, but super cute. Lots of local handspun which was gorgeous - but pricey. Some interesting ideas that I hadn't tried out, bought some katia paper yarn - excited to make a market bag with it. The woman in the store was very helpful and sweet - which was a change compared to a lot of service in Tofino!

Went into this place while I was in town - mum went in to get some thread & her sewing machine serviced & I went to check out the yarn selection. It was better than I expected considering it's primarily a fabric/sewing/quilt shop. There were some new type yarns that are very popular this year, there were quite a few swatches & sample items for people to check out, and there were plenty of yarns I would have been happy to purchase - worth a look if you're doing an Okanagan/Shuswap yarn crawl!

I didn't get that warm fuzzy feeling that I often do when walking into a yarn shop & being cast into all of that gorgeousness!! But I found plenty I would use, I bought a pattern (that I have yet to get to), and the people were really friendly & not uppity at all (as I have found in some fancier yarn shops).
