Extremely high end store. The person working there when I went in greeted me when I came in, answered the few questions I had, and was overall quite pleasant. The store was aesthetically pleasing, if not as cozy as most yarn stores, but they had a fabulous selection of high end yarns. A really good "vacation yarn store", perhaps not an everyday store, unless you happen to be someone who makes quite a bit of money but still has time to knit.

Very tiny! Cute, and the lady who was there was nice, although they didn't have the specific yarn I wanted (but there was plenty of other great stuff). Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

I couldn't find it!

I've only visited this store once, but the staff were very friendly and helpful, and they had a good selection of yarn and notions. They helped me explain to my dad (my ride) the importance of a swift and ball winder, and they didn't try to sell me anything besides what I came to buy. I want to go back!

Does this shop still exist? I couldn't find it even with my GPS!

I came to visit NYC, and found this store through Knit Map, so I went to check it out. The staff wasn't really overly friendly, but they did greet me when I came in and told me to ask if I needed any help. There was a pretty good selection, nothing to write home about (although still better than my LYS), but overall I was a bit underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, by any means, just a bit mediocre for a tourist. I'm sure it's a lovely LYS, though.

I just came to NYC for a visit, and found this store through Knit Map, so I went to check it out. First, as a poor little country girl from the south, I was amazed by the selection! So many colors and so many really fancy (in a good way) yarns that I had never seen or touched before! The person working there was so, SO nice to me, when I said I wasn't local and didn't know most of the yarns she jumped up and showed me around, pointing out all the great yarns and making me feel the really soft ones, and was basically really nice and helpful the whole time. She even invited me back to the communal knit night! It was a really good experience all around, and I would definitely go there again next time I'm in NYC.

A great selection, although I was slightly disappointed by the service. When I walked in, there were several people hanging out there, and no one greeted me. It wasn't until I already picked out some yarn to buy and went to the register that the owner took notice of me. I honestly don't know if it was intentional or if she was just busy, as she treated me nicely after that. Still, quite a bit of lovely yarn, and very cozy.

This is my only LYS, as all the other nearby yarn stores are in the next town. The owner is quite nice, and the store has a very cozy feel. There is a table with some chairs around it so you can sit and knit and chat for a while if you want, and the owner is always willing to help new knitters out. Also has a decent selection of Clover and Addi needles. I don't think I could survive in this town without this store!

This store is very well-organized, with spinning supplies and a good selection of interesting yarns. The only issue I've had the two times I've visited is that the staff doesn't seem to be interested in helping. The first time I went, I asked the lady at the counter about sock yarn for a doll project, and as soon as I mentioned dolls she gave me a look and told me to look in the discount bin. The second time, they didn't say anything to me at all, even when I checked out. They're not outwardly mean or anything, they just don't seem to care much about service (at least toward young people).

The new store is MUCH better. The staff are, on average, friendly and helpful. If you're allergic to cats, though, don't go! The resident kitty is huge and friendly, but she sheds a lot (the employees do regularly sweep to get the cat hair, but there's only so much they can do). The prices are pretty good, and they have a decent selection of both luxury and workaday yarns.

I heard about this store from my dentist (long story) and just had to pay it a visit, since there aren't many yarn stores in the greater Cincinnati area. Well-lit, cozy without being cluttered, well-organized, and the staff were friendly and courteous. I think I've found a new LYS!
