I love Twisted Yarns. The staff is very helpful, and they have an incredible selection of yarn. Can we say BLUE HERON?? Gorgeous.

I've only been to Y2E once and I'm dying to get back! While I was there I noticed that they had quite a range of sock yarn - but at the time I wasn't a sock knitter so I was like "Oh... sock yarn. Meh." But now I've been bitten by the sock bug in a BIG WAY and I'm dying to return to Y2E to get a better look at their selection.

I found Rosewood yarns while on vacation in the Hill Country. I was really pleased with their selection of yarn. They had a couple that I had never seen before... and naturally I had to buy them. (The Wool Peddler and Universal tides.) It definitely made my vacation even better!

I think that's a good idea. You're right -- not everyone has access to independently owned yarn shops and have to rely on chain stores for their yarn. Until about a year ago I was one of those people!! :)

I actually visited this shop with my friend while on holiday, and I wasn't overly impressed. Perhaps it was only because they had just opened in their new location.

My Hubby and I were in Longview over the holidays and we took a little side trip to Stitches n Stuff while we were there. The shop is JAM PACKED with stuff - so watch your step, but the ladies couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. I was disappointed that they had run out of swifts, but did not have any problem spending my money on other items instead. ;)
