Hmm. My experience with Knitch has been less favorable, which is too bad because I really wanted to love it. It's a lovely store and the products are well presented, but the staff seem to be (dare I say it?) a bit snobbish. Perhaps it's just me (and my friends, and my mom, who've had similar experiences): I've seen them give really good customer service to others, but they have pretty much ignored me every time I've been in there. My impression after 5 or 6 visits* is that, if you don't look like their idea of a knitter (whatever it may be) or are not going to spend hundreds of dollars all at once, then you don't exist and they will only reluctantly make eye contact with you, if you physically corner them. (And no, I don't have these sorts of problems at any other LYS.)
I wish I loved Knitch, because it's within walking distance of my home, but personally, I don't. YMMV, of course. Shopping for yarn should be fun, and somehow every time I've gone there I wind up feeling like an unwelcome outsider.
