Big store with huge selection of high end yarns, though not as many artisan hand-dyed yarns as I'd like to see. Good supply of buttons and needlework supplies as well. Carries Lantern Moon products, wide selection of needles, and many many patterns and pattern books. I've never walked out of there disappointed. Staff/owner is super friendly. Her dog Kelso is usually there, too.

Small store in high-rent area, carrying high quality and luxury yarns. They could do with a bit wider selection of brands and more of each color. I've had trouble finding enough yarn for a sweater. They have an interesting selection of hand-dyed yarns, good choices for funky sock yarns, and some good knitting books. Service is great, although I've occasionally felt "watched" more than I'm comfortable with. There is a comfy knitting area in the back of the store.

I thought the owner was wonderful. She is so relaxed and easy to talk to, even if you're an obvious newbie, as I was when I first visited this shop. I'm looking forward to my next trip. As maxfun says, the bathtub is the first place you should look! When I visited there was a great supply of Rowan yarns.
