I've heard several friends complain that the owner is at times brusque or bordering on rude, but I have never experienced this. Be sure to check out the sale room in back. I like the store and though it doesn't have an enormous selection, I will shop there again and again.

The store has so much to see, it is almost overwhelming at times. Not the most unique kinds of yarn, but a good, sturdy, work-horse kind of yarn store with all the basic gotta-haves and then some.

They have announced they will soon go out of business with a sale starting 10/31/07. Too bad.

I love the *idea* of a yarn shop/cafe, but I'm afraid this isn't its best manifestation. I really, really, really wanted to like this place. Instead, I found it amazingly dark (on a sunny day and with lots of windows) and the selection was poor - the sock yarn selection was dismal at best. They also were out of lots of DPNs and I had to go elsewhere to get them. The staff was very friendly, however. Too bad that doesn't make up for what the store otherwise lacks.

For a town this size, a surprisingly good and varied selection. Definitely a must-shop store when we are staying on the North Shore.
