I entered the store once after a hospital visit and the owner was open, helpful, and kind. It was a very good visit and I don't mind visiting again. Parking was also easy to access.

Service can be hit or miss. Sometimes people are very friendly, upbeat, and helpful but sometimes they will pretend that you don't even exist and will go out of their way to ignore you.

Selection was marvelous, there's yarn coming out of your ears there! But service was disappointing. Most of the shopkeepers tended to prefer to knit at their table than answer questions or even welcome customers in their stores. It is a little crowded in there since it's a small store with a lot of yarn. They also tend to have a small dog who belongs to the shop owner but he's friendly and calm and did not affect my allergies.

When I entered, before my eyes even adjusted to the light inside the store from outside, I was welcomed and invited to ask any questions immediately. The store is bright with a lovely place to sit right in front of the window. Their yarns are organized by color rather than manufacturer, allowing one to mix and match according to preferences and it was easy to find as well.

Parking is definitely a tricky business. There is parking in the back but only about four or five spots and the rest is along the narrow streets. When I entered, they were busy with other customers so I didn't get a royal welcome, but they did offer to help me should I have questions when they noticed I was there. The selections are amazing and there are transparent shoe-wear to show off your hand-knit socks.

Though it has everything from puppets and dragon sculptures to yarn, it is the coldest yarn store I have ever walked into. I'm not sure if it's because of my youth or because they are suspicious of anyone who isn't a regular but I was very thoroughly ignored with every attempt I've made to enter. There is only one helpful store employee and she is the youngest of those employed (or so she seems to be). But I have never felt welcome and I soon wandered to greener pastures. They do have a great selection but they could stock unicorn underbelly fur and I wouldn't go back. Well, maybe. Just to see.

A Unraveled Sheep (their grammar error, not mine) is possibly the friendliest yarn store I have ever entered. They have snacks and welcome everyone to partake. They have couches and a table to sit at and knit. The employees are always welcoming and open, readily willing to chat and laugh. It's a marvelous place and I always try to take what chance I can to visit.

You know, a friendly staff and a clean store makes all the difference. When you enter a store and people are there hailing you cheerfully as if you just stepped into your mother's home, inviting you in, it puts you at ease, keeps you there. One day I was heading home from a doctor's visit. I didn't have a lot of money but I had a knitting project. I wanted a spot to just be and so I stopped off at a yarn store and sat down and chatted with the employee. It was so comfortable and we both knitted and enjoyed a small hour, it kept me coming back, though it wasn't exactly close by.
