One of the better yarn stores in the greater Houston Texas area. Worth the drive out there.

Wonderful selection of yarn, patterns and needles for both knitting and crochet. Offers many classes for both projects and techniques. Frequented by knitters of all ages!

I have found Yarntopia to be the friendliest, most welcoming yarn shop in the greater Houston area. The shop is well-lit and well-organized.I have taken several classes there with 3 different instructors. Each class has extended my skills and knowledge and the teachers were kind, helpful, and encouraging. The nicest thing about this shop is that it feels like a community, and even if they don't know you from Adam, they make you feel like you're a part of it.

My parents live near Yarntopia, and every time I go home we stop by to check things out, but I don't know why we still go back. Every single time I go in there I am ignored to check out the lack of yarn selections on my own. Even when I actually need a question answered or some detail, I can't get it. The women who run the store typically sit on the couch, working on whatever project they have going and don't seem to mind whether I'm there or not. Not to mention the yarn selection is pretty terrible. Even when they do happen to have a brand of yarn I like, they tend to have about 4 colors. I guess it's a great place to go if you like Debbie Bliss yarn and being ignored. Terrible customer service.

So I decided to venture into Yarntopia. I moved to Houston last spring and haven't been able to find an LYS so I was eager to make the 20 minute drive. Upon entering the store, the owner didn't even glance up from whatever paperwork was so captivating. My friend and I were the only patrons in the store, she waited a few minutes to ask if we needed something, we of course, were just browsing. About 30 minutes later, a woman arrived on a mission for needles, she was in and out in minutes--so there is a plus. When we finally decided on our purchases, we were meet with quick ring up and we were on our way. I did enjoy the variety of yarns, I believe the color selection was nice and the store has great curb appeal.
I am eager to try other stores in the area.

I have been going to Yarntopia for several years and find it to be a very inviting store. I am always greated with a friendly hello and can I help you find something. The store is clean, organized and has a good seletion of yarn. They are always very nice about helping you with a project and invite you to sit if you need more help. I have taken several classes and learned a lot. I am glad Yarntopia is in Katy!
