This store is very well-organized, with spinning supplies and a good selection of interesting yarns. The only issue I've had the two times I've visited is that the staff doesn't seem to be interested in helping. The first time I went, I asked the lady at the counter about sock yarn for a doll project, and as soon as I mentioned dolls she gave me a look and told me to look in the discount bin. The second time, they didn't say anything to me at all, even when I checked out. They're not outwardly mean or anything, they just don't seem to care much about service (at least toward young people).

I have visited this shop numerous times and have mostly been dissatified with the selection as well as the customer service. Agreed, they are not openly discurteous. If you know exactly what you want and if they happen to have enough of it in stock this is a good place to shop. Otherwise, surf the web or you will be sorry. I have been taking my own advice of late and am a much happier knitter.

It's odd that the other 2 comments were about bad customer service. I have only been in the store 3 times, each with a different person at the register and they were all super helpful. When I was there each time someone was also helping knitters with problems, and helping newbies to pick out projects.

I actually brought a few people there because they were so nice and helpful. I've had good experiences there.

I've been in this shop numberous times also, and I find the customer service to be lacking. They do seem indiffent (could it be they feel they have the market on the kniitting stores in the area, since they have Great Yarns, and another store in Greensboro?).

I have had good experiences there when I need help with mistakes or with ideas for a project. I can only make it in on the weekends, so I don't know much about those that work weekdays.

Oh help!! I was in your store in Feb. to buy yarn for a yet to be conceived baby blanket and think I am going to run out of the Encore color 7991 and dye lot 41137. Would you please look and see if you have one more? I will be coming thru' Chapel Hill on Thursday and can pick it up, and probably a few things more. The blanket is becoming very large but am over 3/4 done. thanks for your help Sincerely Jan

Hey ladies! Thank you for posting your feedback. I currently live in Asheville and am visiting your area in the next few weeks. I am seeking out good yarn shops and I love to chat with the staff and learn about new patterns yarns, so a shop with disinterested employees is NOT what I am driving 4 hours for. Thanks for the info and happy knitting!

We had a GREAT time @ Yarns, Etc. as we went on our yarn crawl. All the ladies were very helpful and were very sweet. They even opened up boxes that they had not even priced yet just so we could have some of the ChiaoGoo red circular needles. I will go by this shop every time I have a reason to go through Chapel Hill. Thanks for all your help!!!

3 visits in a one week vacation period, reasonable customer service, offered to wind yarn, not the greatest job, but adequate. I found it to be an acceptable experience, I purchased yarn once and then came back twice for needles. I will go back on my next trip to Chapel Hill.
