Not a great area of town. Good selection of quality yarns-Alchemy, Twisted Sisters, Malabrigo, Artyan, Nashua, etc. Big selection of Berrocco if that is your thang. The front blinds will be closed, but they are open. I'd go back next trip if I had the time after seeing a couple other shops first.

By far the best yarn shop inside the Beltway. The shop itself is spacious enough for easy browsing but also cozy enough to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere. The selection is fantastic and well-organized and the service never fails to be friendly and helpful. Wendy, the owner, goes out of her way to make everyone who walks through the door feel welcome--beginners and experts alike. Don't be scared off by mlw1459's comment--there's absolutely nothing wrong with this part of town.

I've only been to Y2E once and I'm dying to get back! While I was there I noticed that they had quite a range of sock yarn - but at the time I wasn't a sock knitter so I was like "Oh... sock yarn. Meh." But now I've been bitten by the sock bug in a BIG WAY and I'm dying to return to Y2E to get a better look at their selection.

I've been to this shop twice while in Houston on business. They have *great* selection of *great* yarns, books, needles, bags, needle cases, etc!!!! There is a huge wall of needles next to the cash register that I did not see until I was checking out. I had been disappointed at the 2 little turnstiles of needles - and there they were right under my nose!
The woman who was there both times I was in the shop was extremely knowledgeable and helpful!
Since I'm not from Houston, I found the shop a bit hard to find - it's on the right side of a one-way street in a white brick bldg with off-street parking right in front, so the bldg is set back a little. The sign is kind of hard to read.
A couple of comfy couches to sit and knit, as well as lots of shop copies of current mags and books. What a bonus!

Huge selection and nice people. I like that the staff just lets me browse when I want to, but is very helpful when I need it.

I almost didn't go into this shop--it looked like it wasn't going to have anything I wanted to knit. A reminder not to 'judge a book by it's cover'. This shop has one of the best selections of yarn I have seen--everything I have read about, heard about, dreamed about.

Do go in. And bring your wallet

Great selection of needles, yarn, books and patterns. This is one of the best yarn stores for selection I have ever seen. I did not need sweater/full bag quantities, so I don't know how deep the stock goes. I have to think that if they would bother to order so broad a selection that they would also order deep and have enough to knit an entire sweater.
I will definitely go back on my next visit to Houston.

One of my favorite yarn shops. The selection is fantastic, no matter what kind of yarn you're looking for. I always find what I need, or they'll order for me. Just want some company while you knit? There is almost always someone hanging out in the seating area. It's not fancy on the outside, but definitely worth coming by.
