Notes
Yarn Worx is also stocking numerous knitting totes and notion storage bags. Great music and re-usable project bags at check-out. FREE Wifi along with sweet refresments.
We're really busy loading the "rug hooking" area with beautiful hand-dyed wools in fat qtrs, fat 1/8ths, variety paks, munks cloth, quality burlap and some varied cloths for hooking. There are several pre-packaged kits ready to go (all materials, pattern and hook) included, and plans for adding some original YARN WORX designs in the near future.
Knitting classes start this weekend, and we're signing up gals or guys for more (Knit & Crochet) classes with Summer sweaters, shells, socks and more. It's "Open Knitting" or crafting on Wednesday afternoons from 1-3 PM and YARN WORX will have Sock Hops on Fridays from 2-4 PM. All you bring is your latest sock project on (dps, two circulars or Magic Loop) and join in for great fun!
You have to try your hand at some Tunisian Crochet or Swedish Weaving and learn Finger Weaving with any or all of those "thick & thin" type yarns!
Yarn Worx, at present is open Monday-Friday 9AM - 5PM and Saturday 10AM-4PM. Planning on possibly staying open Thursday evenings until 7PM thru the Summer months for customer convenience. Let us know what you think???

Three weeks new. Beautiful store. Friendly staff and sit-in knitters. I met Mary, the owner; Connie and Betty today. Mary stocks lots of good workhorse yarn and beautiful frou frou yarn too. She carries notions, books, magazines. Classes are offered. She has many gorgeous hand made buttons; felted, polymer and fused glass along with some fun jewelry (not all knitting related) and inspirational gifts. I had a great time and will go back. I forgot to check the hours the store is open. I was there in the early afternoon on a Wednesday.

This is a very welcoming store, although not all the stock is in yet. Mary is very open to listening to what we want and looking into ordering it. Unfortunately, it's a little out of the way for me, so I know I won't get out there too often, but it's worth the drive if you're in the area.
Just make sure that you turn on the street adjacent to the strip center to turn into the parking lot - the other driveway will cause even the taller vehicles to bottom out. :-)

Can't wait to visit again when she has more in stock - very happy that she was interested in what WE want instead of just what is easiest to stock. Happy to see piles of Dream in Color and Misti Alpaca - I'm saving up to get my wishlist now! Very excited to see what Malabrigo she will carry.
Very friendly and welcoming. :)

Posting an updated review now that the shop has been open for a while. I still like the shop overall, but have some misgivings now. When my knit group first went in, the owner seemed interested in wanting to know what we wanted her to carry. We have no local option for Malabrigo, and discussed it with her. She let us pick some of the colors that we liked, and when the order came in, we went back a couple of times to purchase a few skeins.
In subsequent visits or conversations with her, no less than 4 times did she mention how she had ordered "all this Malabrigo" and it's not selling, like it was our responsibility to purchase all she'd ordered, even though we had purchased the colors we'd requested, and didn't care for the other colors she'd ordered. It has really colored my opinion of this shop.

This is a wonderful shop! The owner is very gracious and makes her customers feel like a priority. She does a great job pointing out the new yarns and the qualities associated with them. Judging by the crowds at the shop the few times I have visited there I would say she has a very loyal and growing following.
Definitely worth the drive from Springfield to visit this store. I plan on visiting often.
Ask about the monthly yarn discount and the great selection of classes.
