There is a decent amount of yarn at this shop but the day I visited, while the woman was very nice, she could not answer my questions.

Steve and Monica (owners) have anything that you might want here! Floor to ceiling yarn, great knitted projects all over the store. Steve is an artist that creates his own garments! It is wonderful going into this store. If there is any type of yarn you might want, Steve, Monica and the staff know right where to find it! Even if it's on the top of the stack at the ceiling! A fabulous store! A MUST stop!!! I've been going here for a few years now. Never disappointed!

THE YARN GARAGE IS REALLY INTO WORKING WITH THE COMMUNITY AND THE OWNERS HAVE A HEART FOR HELPING THE NEEDY. I AM AMAZED AT WHAT THEY HAVE ORGANIZED FOR CHARITY KNITTING AND CROCHETING....THEY WORK ALL YEAR LONG TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF OTHERS. GREAT SHOP!

I recently went to this store with my mom. She has been going there for a couple years, and I am new to knitting.
The store is amazing! It can be a bit cramped with several customers, but this location has tons of yarn, needles, and anything else you'd need. The other thing that I really enjoyed is everything they had was really unique. I've been to a few random stores and also the big box craft stores, and nothing was the same, yarn wise. Just a really wide variety of beautiful yarns and things I didn't even know existed.
The staff was really nice. We got there close to their closing time and thye were so nice when we were there a couple minutes past close, finishing our shopping. They were sincerely nice; it wasn't like being nice because someone tells them to.
I would highly recommend going to this location! Its wonderful!

This is not a knitting store. This is a knitting tourist attraction. If you are ever close to this place, go see it. This is actually my closest LYS but I find it overwhelming to shop there more than occasionally because there is just. So. Much. Yarn.
Monica is lovely, and her brother Steven is...also a tourist attraction? Very artistic. Very huge personality in a small-ish body. He also runs StephenBe in Minneapolis but I haven't had the opportunity to stop in there yet.
My first exposure to this store was when I took a crochet class several years back from Stephen through the school district community ed, which was fun. I usually trek in once a year or so to see if there is any new trends I'm missing out on because I know they will have it, whatever it may be. Also if I'm looking for something obscure or a wide selection of colors, I know they will have some or will be able to find some for me, because the rest of the staff is all genuinely helpful as well.
