If you were travelling and were pressed for time, I can't say that I would include this shop in your must-see list. You could probably find most of the yarn in your hometown LYS. The previous owner was lovely, I am sorry she moved away from the City.

Customer service definitely NOT the forte of this place! was told that unless I purchased my wool there, they would not help me finish a knitting project. Sad because the previous week I spent over $200 on needlepoint supplies that I can't take back. Carol is definitely not my favorite staff member there.

The owner is not rude to people of color. Her own adopted daughter is of color. Please think before you say something so horrible. The woolgathering is one of the best knitting stores, if not thee best store in NYC.

Stopped by to check out this store yesterday. The store is set up beautifully and it has a very nice selection of all different kinds of yarns. Diane, who works there, was extremely warm and welcoming. Stayed there for about an hour chatting and shopping. The only downside is that it's too small to sit and knit.
