I have shopped at every knitting store on the west side of LA, and I am completely smitted with this one. The new owner (six months) is lovely -- friendly and helpful and creative and the kind of person you'd show up to have tea with whether you were a knitter or not. The same goes for the other people who staff the shop. It's a beautiful space, with natural light and high ceilings. And the selection is unsurpassed, partly, I'm sure, because they have the space to get in lots. I haven't needed help with my projects, but I'm sure that for beginners they would be as helpful as possible.

Fabulous yarn shop. Not only do they have the best selection of yarn, they offer great classes. When I decided to take a knitting class, I researched classes throughout Los Angeles, Wildfiber offered the most in-depth classes and experienced help. It continues to be a terrific resource whenever I need a little help or encouragement. I enjoy stopping by to knit, relax and gossip about Project Runway.

They had a great selection when I went to visit. A decent amount of lace weight yarn as well as bulky yarn.

Great selection, nice people. I still miss the original Wild Fiber that had dyeing, spinning, weaving, etc. Don't miss the sale room in the back.

Great selection - don't miss that wall of Koigu! I had to sit down and just breathe the fumes! ;)

Great staff! They hang back when I just want to browse and be in my own world. When I have a question, someone is always available and nearby. Amazing... they must have a mind-reading machine behind that big desk.
Also a really nice selection of funky buttons, bag handles, palmwood crochet hooks (comfy, good price, so hard to find!), and not-old-lady knitting bags.

Be sure to park on Broadway or on the SAME side of 14th St. as the store (and feed the meter). Parking on the other side of the street is residential/permit only. I thought I was lucky when I got a spot across the street without a meter. I came out after my hour of happiness to find that I owed the entire amount of my purchase to the Santa Monica PD. Ouch!

I've wanted to visit Wildfiber forever and got the opportunity last week. I was not disappointed. They have a vast selection of yarn and were having a huge sale. The staff was friendly but didn't hover; in other words, they were perfect. Parking was a little annoying, but that's not their fault.

My mom and I visited Wildfiber when we were on vacation, and we are so glad we did! It was like yarn heaven! I'm going to make sure to visit every time I'm in the area.

Do you have crochet classes and, if so, what are the class times? Thank you, JD

By far the best selection I've encountered in SoCal.

I had been meaning to visit this store and am glad that I did. The store has an amazing selection of Madelinetosh yarns. Parking is difficult because there is only on-street parking in an area where parking enforcement is "trying to close the budget deficit". So be careful not to get a ticket.
