I absolutely LOVE WEBS. Every time I've been in there I've always felt welcome. And selection? WOW.

I've never been to the store itself, but I've had a few experiences with their online store. They have a great selection, but my only problem is that it seems like in every order I make something is backordered. Their website isn't always very accurate about what they have of what colors.

Webs is yarnie mecca- you should see the size of the place, and they have SO MUCH selection. I happily drive two hours to shop there.

I'm lucky to have WEBS as my LYS. The front of the store has the largest selection I've ever seen, but the real treasure is the warehouse. So much yarn, and at a good discount!

I live 3000 miles away and get to Webs whenever I can, in person or on line, and I've never had anything but a wonderful experience! They've even been terrific at Stitches!

Oh WEBS, how I adore you! Everyone who works at webs is friendly and knowledgeable. Going to WEBS is like going to a party because there are always people talking yarn, discussing patterns, knitting, and enjoying themselves.
It almost goes without saying that the selection cannot be beat and that everything is quality. I have been utterly spoiled by WEBS and ever since moving out the Valley I have not (and do not expect to find) a comparable knitting store.
WEBS, with its wonderful discounts (including a student one), is responsible for my large stash of yarn and my even larger stash of UFOS. You win some, you lose some, I suppose.

How can you not love WEBS. Yarn, spinning, weaving. Textiles galore. I go there EVERYTIME I visit my mother. The owners have business degrees so the store is very well run.

I am looking for a Candide Knitting Pattern for a Cardigan Sweater, about 25yrs.old which contains directions for multiple sizes. I believe the original had a 3 color border on nect, sleeve cuffs, around the bottom and on both sides of the front. No fancy stitches, just the garter stitch. thank you in advance for your help. @Connie - We've done some checking, but are unable to find the pattern in question. We even checked on Ravelry to try and see if maybe someone had it listed there, but no luck.
We did find a Reynolds Lopi pattern that seems similar to that style and appearance. You can see it here:

It's not quite the same, but maybe it is close enough to be usable.

Connie was looking for an old Candide pattern. It was like a sweater jacket done in garter stitch with a zippered front and pewter buttons at the neck. I did mine in an off white, with a green and red border around the neck, cuffs, front edge and body. I may be able to locate the pattern.

When I walked into WEBS I thought I had died and gone to yarn heaven. It is the store that does the heaviest damage to my checkbook. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

I am looking for a Candide pattern for child's Aran knit sweater. It is at least 25 years old, and has patterns for both cardigan and pullover. It has 2 cables, separated by a panel of blackberry stitch, with seed stitch on each edge.

I like Webs, but I don't love it. Sure, it's a big yarn store with a big selection, but I don't think that its selection is especially great. Webs doesn't carry many yarns that I like to purchase, so sometimes I leave empty-handed. I find its sock yarn selection especially limited, and it doesn't offer as many color choices for some yarns as I would like. Also, if I actually go to the shop (instead of shop online), I feel like I'm shopping in a huge warehouse, which I guess I am, but it makes me feel like I'm in Lowe's or Home Depot. That being stated... their discount on large purchases is great, and the staff is super friendly and helpful, so overall it is a good shop, but it's not the holy grail of yarn shops.

Connie - I think I have a copy of the Candide Knitting Pattern you're looking for. It's a little marked up, but I would be glad to photocopy it and send it to you if you haven't got a copy yet.
I'm wearing one I made in my Ravelry photo - I'm wibbus on Ravelry.

WEBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How we love it here. We'd be in trouble if it was close to us. They have sooooo much yarn. Not to mention the spinning & weaving supplies, or great customer service.

Connie/Wibbus--I am also looking for this pattern. My friend's mother made one for her yars ago and since the mother's death the sweater was machine washed and dried--disaster!. Please help!

Webs & I go way back, both online and on site. Truly Fiber Mecca for knitters, crocheters & weavers! I highly recommend it! Even when Webs doesn't have a sale going on, many of their yarns are eligible for a 20% discount for purchases of $60 or more and 25% for purchases of $120 or more. I don't need to tell you how easy it is to qualify for a discount!
Though I live in Virginia and am primarily an online customer, I've been fortunate to visit the store (and its warehouse!) twice now. My most recent visit was last week as the first (and sixth!!!) stop on the 2011 I-91 Shop Hop. The usually friendly & helpful staff pulled out all the stops and bestowed lovely goodie bags on us, made themselves available for questions, but weren't intrusive. (Direct quote: "Do you need help or are you just overwhelmed?" Staff are used to customers overcome by yarn euphoria.) There even was a table near the doorladen with water and snacks for the road to the next yarn shop.
Unlike many online stores, Webs staff are happy to assist online customers with questions and special requests. Once I was running out of yarn for a project, and a Webs staffer cheerfully offered to run back to the warehouse to check dye lots and call me back. Wow!
This store has earned my undying loyalty.
