Very cozy! They offer spinning classes on occasion, and have some yarns that I haven't seen anywhere else.

Owner Brenda or just whoever is in the store are always very helpful and friendly and I just love this store. Has a very good variety of different yarns.

My favorite knit shop- kind of like the ones your Mom went to. Incredible knowledgeable staff. Brenda is wonderful. Good selection of yarns.

Will add my 2 cents: a wonderful shop that is made the best by the friendly staff who are helpful. call for directions as it is tucked into a corner. Well worth the trip.

First time I was there Brenda was teaching a blind person to knit. The store is a hub for charity knitting and is very helpful with any problems as well as having a good selection. The staff also is very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend going in.

This shop is wonderful. Great selection, very friendly and helpful staff - they ask if you need help, the leave you alone to shop, answer questions, and help you find what you're looking for. if you ask.
If you don't see enough of the yarn you want, just ask - they'll run next door to find what you need and will order it if they don't have it.
You can bring projects for help - they are knowledgeable and patient. I've even called the shop for help when I wasn't able to make it to the store! They have staff who know knitting, crochet, and spinning. And, they also provide finishing services - in case you don't want to do the seaming yourself.
I agree with the suggestion that you call for directions - it is a little hard to find, even for those of us who live in town.

I only visited the shop one time. The owner and everyone working there ignored me the entire time. Finally after 15 minutes of being unable to get anyone to notice me, I left. I felt like an outcast and was just there to get some recommendations and treat myself to some nice yarn. Very discouraging for a beginning knitter like me. Would have loved to have been embraced...

Uniquities is a established retailer featuring an incredible array of fabulous fibres from all over the world, tools of the trade and if they don't have it they will special order it for you. They are an excellent resource for professional textile artisans!

This is probably the largest LYS in the DC area.
I love it how the store is about 2 miles away from Tysons Corner. :) (Gives me an excuse!) They have alot of yarns that are HARD TO FIND in Southern FL. (I am guilty now that I didn't buy more!
The owner was surprised that someone in their early teens would enjoy going to a yarn store. (Kids my age hang out in the mall, which I do sometimes, but I still don't feel right like that.) I was the youngest customer! :D
I like that they have the yarns they carry on their website. I bought some sock yarn, Kollage square needles, Kollage Cornutopia, and some Frog Tree Brushed Suri! :D :D

This is one of my fiber homes, the comforting place I go to again and again to soak up the colors & textures, chat with friends, browse to my heart's content. It's situated close to my doctor's office, so buying a little something for myself is my "lollipop" after a check-up. (No, I don't stop in if I'm contagious, don't you worry!)
LOTS of everything--yarns from affordable to indulgeances, a needle and pattern room, with lots of buttons to browse as well. Tons of sock yarn. Upstairs is Spinning Central, with an amazing assortment of wheels, roving & I've even seen some fleeces.
I've never taken classes here, but friends have, and the teachers are super.
It takes a little finding the shop at the end of an office park, but you won't be sorry looking for it. Call for directions & you'll know these are helpful folks!
