There is a good selection of sock yarn, the full colour range of Cascade 220 and many other good sweater yarns along with non wool fibres like cotton, linen etc. If you're a spinner you won't find much here though. It's a small shop but nicely organized so that things are easy to find. I have always had friendly service here.

There's also a super friendly knitting group that meets on Wednesdays from 7-9 pm. I just started going 3 weeks ago, and the regulars were totally welcoming.

Natural fibres, lots of colours and every weight/gauge of yarn. Some hand-dyed beauties -- local product. Very helpful staff will look up yarn on database to match your pattern. And they have a... winder! Yay! It's sort of kitty-corner from Solly's (although it's mid-block, but you'll understand when you get there) so you can pick up some of your Baba's home-baking while you're there.

Love the decor. Lots of bright colours, They have a lot of yarn, however I found that there wasn't a lot of different yarns but instead lots of the same in different colours. No Fleece Artist or Handmaiden, but lots of Cascade and sock yarns. A great shop over all.

Really friendly staff who remember projects from visit to visit, nice selection at good prices. I agree with rocky55 -- the variety is more in full colour ranges for particular yarns than it is in different yarns. It's a great place to go with your knitting & hang out.

The selection is breath-taking though, I nearly died when I walked in the door, it's so colourful and everything is so organized! The staff is really helpful too, and the location is great. They also have a huge directory of patterns to choose from, which I found extremely handy! Overall, I love this store!

Nice selection of wools (lots of superwash), and natural nonwools like linen...the only store I've been to so far that stocks the Hemp for Knitting brand. Nicely organized, easy to find everything...I'm more of a browser, and the staff left me to my own devices so I could browse in peace...no complaints whatsoever.

My Favourite Vancouver store. Super friendly, very skilled and interested service and a fab yarn selection. I love this store, and would make it my LYS if I lived here. I loved the quality selection and colours of yarn, a sign of true experts. Here I feel I could develop my lace skills to the extreem. I fell in love with it and the contrast could not be greater to the visit down the street ;-)

The Gold Standard! I personally rate all wool stores between Vancouver and Portland, also London and New York, to Three Bags Full...some come close. Fabulous owner and friendly creative staff, natural yarns, great ambiance, and I could spend hours knitting in the store, in fact, I do! The Knit Night is very friendly and fun where a lot of ideas can be shared and a lot of knit problems worked out.

This is my absolute favourite LYS. I live only three blocks away and rarely find the need to go to any other store. The staff are very helpful and have helped me choose yarn for projects as well as talking me through a few knitting disasters. The staff clearly have a passion for knitting and yarn. There is a huge selection of sample projects to inspire you in a warm cozy atmosphere!

It was a Pleasure to Meet Francesca and the the other member if the staff which the name escapes me at the moment, not her fault. I liked the place, it is CROCHET Friendly, very friendly and helpful staff. I was visiting from San Francisco and was able to get some local yarns. The selection is good and the conversation is even better. Keep up the good work and Hope we can visit again.
There are all kinds of supplies, from spindles and fiber, to needles and hooks. If you are in Vancouver you will benefit from your visit to this cozy neighborhood Yarn Store, keep up the good work and thank you for making me feel so welcome.

It's a beautifully colourful, trendy but quaint yarn shop. While they couldn't possibly have every yarn out there, they do have a lot to choose from and are helpful to help you find a substitute if need be. It's like a candy store of yarn. Definitely worth a visit.
