Really good location and the shop is really organized. They have a classroom area and close to lots of cafes.

Wonderful selection of books and yarn. Staff is always willing to help. Wide variety of classes, often offered at all hours of the day.

I was extremely disappointed about this shop. I am from the east coast and think that Minnesota is wonderful with all of their customer service. However, I went into this shop looked around for 15 minutes and needed to use the rest room. They refused to let me use their restroom. As a consumer, I felt that it was extremely uncourteous to not allow a person to use the restroom. I walked out and did not purchase because of this and I had over $200 worth of yarn that I put back.

I call this shop "the mothership". 'Nuf said. It is located in an older building in a great urban neighborhood (rather than a mall) and the restroom situation is admittedly inconvenient, but I'll take the variety of yarns, patterns, classes, expertise of the employees and great customer service anyday!

I love this shop! The staff are very laid back and extremely helpful. They always notice when I'm wearing a hand-knit, and are careful to help me find exactly what I need. They don't pester people, and are really great about letting me sit on the floor for hours at a time with their pattern books- don't miss their pattern closet!

I have loved this place for decades (Mom being a weaver & knitter too), and bring friends with me to visit when I'm in town (rarely anymore).
Sad to hear about the bathroom woes; I'd recommend a quick pitstop at the corner Caffe Latte (they grind organic wheat for their baked goodies and their chocolate goodies are amazing x decadent - you have been warned!) before heading into the lovely yarny goodness and splendid experience that is the Yarnery, any time!

This shop has a good selection of yarn. The service I have received there has been very spotty and more on the not so good end. The atmosphere is a little uncomfortable and sterile (even with its location). I feel like a person cannot enter this store in jeans and a sweatshirt, be comfortable and not feel a little ostracized. I need a yarn shop that feels like home, is laid back and knows that customers are their best asset. This is not that shop.
I am saddened, but not at all surprised by YarnMama’s comment regarding the restroom issue.
