40 years ago Judy convinced me that I could make a Lopi sweater for my son leaving for college. He is now 59 years old and while I was visiting him in Wisconsin for Thanksgiving he asked if I could mend that sweater. I took a picture of it and will take it up to the store to show Adam (and hopefully Judy if she is there). I believe I was one of the very early customers at the Stitchery and made several other Lopi sweaters as well as many other projects in the years that followed ! 1211/2013

Stocked from floor to ceiling with yarns! Not much in the way of ambience but you won't be disappointed with the yarns, accessories and helpful staff.

I've been buying yarn at the Stitchery in Pearl River since my kids were infants. They have kids of their own now and I'm buying yarn here for my grandchildren. Their selection is fabulous and their customer service is second to none. And if you need help, they are there for you. I've tried one or two other "yarn" stores and they always try to sell you something that you don't want. Adam and Judy are the best!

OMG, this place is heaven. They should have bibs for the people walking in off the street. There is so much wonderful yarn, in great variety, from floor to ceiling like an old time yarn shop. Adam and a very helpful assistant both exhibited terrific customer service, and were very generous with their ideas and suggestions, not just pushing their higher priced products. I only wish I had a tenth of their experience and knowledge as well as their memory!

Besides the sheer volume of types of yarn, they carry yarn at different price points so that everyone can afford to knit. There is very little in this shop that you might find in chain craft stores, which adds to the allure. If you are a pattern junkie, and who isn't, they seem to carry every yarn booklet and book imagineable. And bag handles! Adam is a prolific and talented felter, and carries many different types of handles that can really make a bag special without making a trip into NYC or knit convention.

The Stitchery is definitely the first place I would go for any project, and it's by no means the closest in miles.

Adam and his mother will take the time to advise you on yarns, suggest substitutes, and find yarns for that dream that you want to knit. I've been using their shop for at least 15 years and have always been satisfied.

Great old time yarn store....I think 35 yrs in existence. The owner, Adam, has an unbelievable color sense! Whether you are looking for a current pattern or something vintage, they seem to have it.

Adam is amazing. He has a great eye for color and texture combinations.
Always a fun visit!

Great cluttered shop with so many choices! The owners are super helpful and Adam has a mind like a steel trap.
Even though they don't carry all the yarns in some of the patterns in the magazines they have a zillion substitutes to choose from!
