This is a great little knit shop; the sister store to Yarns Unlimitied on Pico. They stayed open late so that we could take our time with our yarn selection, and were overally helpful and friendly. The store is in a cute area, so we were able to walk around afterwards and had dinner at a great Mexican restaurant down the street.

This is one of my favorite yarn shops, so I'm lucky that it's also the closest for me. Patricia, the owner, is always so warm and gracious. Her prices are good and she has a nice selection of yarn, so I usually check there first if I'm on a yarn hunt.
And across the street is a new restaurant that I love! It's called Farm Stand.

Opening time is not necessarily reliable, many months ago I tried to visit after LAX drop-off, and I waited around a while and finally gave up. I look forward to visiting in the future.

If you want a friendly/great place to knit - this is NOT your kind of place.

to the person who anonymously posted a negative comment on July 10th: why don't you have the courtesy to give reasons for your feelings or perceptions? Your statement is completely subjective and without specifics to substantiate your view. Why do you feel it is acceptable to be hateful? The proprietress of the Slipt Stitch is helpful, patient, has a good sense of color and style. I highly recommend this store to anyone who likes yarn and helpful business people. (signed) Harlene

The Slip Stitch is a wonderful place to knit and buy yarn. There is a varity of beautiful yarn ranging in prices. Patrica is very patient and helful with color section, combining yarns, reading pattern, etc. All customers are welcome to knit at the shop and receive assistance for free, as long as they purchase the yarn from the shop. The Slip Stitch is difinitely worth a visit. Thank you, Patrica for helping me with all of my projects! I can't believe I actually knitted the beautiful shugs and sweaters! I can't wait to start an other project.

The Slipt Stitch is a great place. Patricia is always helpful including searching for matching fibers at the "big store", Yarns Unltd. Patricia has a great reputation among her peer knit shop owners too. The neighborhood is great for just walking around.
The anonymous comment on July 10 was mean.

This shop is a real gem. Patricia is so nice and welcoming. I spent many days there while visiting from Hong Kong, I felt very comfortable sitting and knitting with the regulars for a few hours, I even picked up some knitting tips. The shop has a wide variety of yarns and books and magazines, I look forward to going back in the near future!

Visited this shop while in LA for work. It was lovely! Great yarn - I knit one of my favorite hats from their yarn :)

I have to agree with Anonymous that this is not a friendly or helpful place. I went in wanting to start up knitting again....The group (regulars?) working on their projects did not acknowledge me nor did the person working there...I walked around looking at the beautiful yarns for 10-15 minutes without ANYONE speaking to me or saying they could help me in a minute which is what most shopkeepers do if a new customer walks in. I decided to go elsewhere.

I love this shop. Patricia is most helpful, as is her daughter, who helps out from time to time. Very good selection of yarns at all price points; better representation than most of affordable yarns, including lots of washable yarns and very big selection of "baby" yarns in a riot of colors. Extensive selection of needles.
I'm astonished by the 2 anonymous comments of unfriendliness. Patricia will allow you plenty of time to browse, if that's what you want, but in my experience, is always available when you need her. The regulars are very friendly. More than once, I've just dropped in and sat down to knit. I've been welcomed whether or not I was purchasing that day.
Possibly because she's from So America, Patricia favors Continental knitting (and since I'm a "picker," too, that works for me), but she of course also demonstrates English style for those who want it.
I like this store a lot. It's also the closest to LAX, for flying knitters.

I enjoyed this store at one time...yes, they do have a nice variety of yarn at decent price ranges yet...the owner has started a new business and talked about her online travel agency NOT yarn! She made me sit through a lesson on how to navegate her travel website... I will be buying my yarn elsewhere...
