It's not a super duper yarn store (it's mainly a quilting store) but the yarn selection is good enough and the location is so central that I find myself stopping in there more often than other lys' that I like better. Good selection of the basics--Cascade 220 and Brown Sheep. Not so great for needles or patterns & books.

Very overpriced. You can do better elsewhere for the brands they carry.

I have been trying to get through to your website and can't.
I keep getting a pic of a co-ed on campus, a list of quilt stuff which takes me to random sites including J. C. Penney!
Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Am also looking for the new Moda Last Frontier with the snow scene on the top going on down to water at the bottom. Quilts with a Twist uses this in her pattern. Very cool and so easy. Am using the Moda #6733 now for that quilt and would like to make the new one. thanks, Joan

I also have been trying to get through to your website so that I can find a listing of summer classes available. I keep getting a picture of a co-ed on campus which takes me on from there to all types of sites except Quilt Tree. Please let me know how to get to your website and how to acquire a listing of your summer classes. Thank you, Susan

The Yarn Branch at Quilt Tree is offering even more knitting classes than before. I've taken three (top-down sweater, double knitting, and a finishing class) and have had good experiences with all three. Although folks are right that they're primarily a quilt shop, they do make sure that there's at least one experienced knitter available in the store to help customers and there's almost always one employee that's assigned to helping the fiber arts area. They have at least one certified Master Knitter on staff (Toni) and all of the knitters on staff are willing to try and help with patterns, questions and problems. When they first started The Yarn Branch, it wasn't as well-developed as it is now. I wish there was a bit more comfortable space to sit and knit (there are tables, folding chairs and a couple of wicker chairs), but otherwise I enjoy this LYS. If you've tried it in the past and been disappointed, I recommend giving it another shot.

Ivisitedyour shop in Oct of '09 and againin June of 2010. I found the staff to be very welcoming and the selection great. I'm a quilter, not a knitter, but enjoyed the knitting portion of the shop. It made me wish I could knit !
I hope to get into the shop as I will again be visiting Alaska over the Christmas holiday.

I was very excited to visit the Yarn Branch in search of a ghastly pink yarn. The staff wasn't very polite and seemed impatient with me. My items were rung incorrectly and the woman at the counter behaved as if i were at fault. Totally unpleasant experience. I'd be happy to try again, if not just to paw at the bargain/clearance yarns.
