While I haven't been able to go into the shop yet, I have ordered online before and always receive great service and fast shipping. The selection is fantastic and I always find something that I want in the shop!

My first visit was my last! Very cold staff. Small store, with small selection to match. Staff not very concerned about customers needs, in my opinion.
Over all I did NOT feel welcome.

doglvngurl,
After reading your comment, I am wondering if you have The Loopy Ewe mixed up with another local yarn store called Heavenly Ewe. I live in St. Louis and The Loopy Ewe is a HUGE store in an office/business area. I have friends that have visited Heavenly Ewe and they said that it is a small area in a bookstore with a limited selection of yarn. I have not been there so I am not familiar with their staff or selection.
Also when you mentioned a small selection of yarn - The Loopy Ewe has almost every sock/lace yarn available along with tons of independent dyers that you usually only see at fiber festivals. I have always had a great experience at The Loopy Ewe with product and staff - I would hate to see them get a bad review if you have mistaken them for a different store.
Thanks

I shop at the Loopy Ewe since it is local for me.
The selection is overwhelming at times. I suggest that if you visit their shop on the web, make a list of yarns you are interested in so you don't miss out on them.
While the shop is open to shoppers for limited hours, the "elves" as the employees are called are busy restocking shelves, filling orders and general duties. They do ask if you need help but are not in your face following you around.
Not your usual location for a yarn shop - inside an office building but it is huge, well lit and has a nice couch to sit and knit a bit. If you are there the right time of year - there is also the largest bowl of chocolate kisses on the table.

I had the most amazing experience at The Loopy Ewe! I wish it was my LYS but it is probably a good thing that it isn't - I couldn't afford my yarn habit. If you love sock yarn you HAVE to visit this heavenly place.

Just an update, Barrett Station Road is torn up so you will need to find another route there if you are traveling down Manchester Road. Still worth the trip for all the new yarns being sorted right now.

DOGLVNGURL above clearly did not go the same shop I went to! It is HUGE. They have so much yarn it boggles the mind. The staff treated me like a valued friend. They asked me several times if I needed any help and if I was finding what I needed and chatted me up quite wonderfully. If you are into sock yarn and/or eye-poppingly gorgeous hand dyes, you will feel that you died and went to heaven here. Going there not only made me anxious to go back, but also motivated me to order online from such a wonderful group of gals!

I order from the Loopy Ewe online, and their selection of yarn online is truly mind-boggling. Even via email, the staff is kind, helpful, and friendly, and they went out of their way to make sure I received my order before I left on vacation. Prices are reasonable, and the little extras that come with the orders are fun too. Highly recommended!
