This store has an amazing selection of yarn. The owner is also very friendly and helpful. The classes are the best deal in town, and if you have not crocheted or knitted before, they offer free beginning classes every month. The only downside is that when there are classes or a group, it may get a bit cramped. Nonetheless, this is one of my favorite stores to go to!

I'm not a fan. The owner sold me some yarn on sale, and when I came back a few weeks later to buy another skein (desperate to complete my project), strangely the yarn was again full price. I hope she's glad she got that extra $7, because she'll never see a dime from me again.

Errr... I worked in retail for 5 years (before movin' on up; it's not uncommon to place items temporarily on sale. Every retail store that sells goods of any kind does this (some more often than others).
So no, it isn't strange. Simply a misunderstanding on your part.

this is a cozy little yarn store and definitely worth a visit. i was leaving l.a. and then realized this store was on the way out, so i went and stocked up on a lot of yarn. the two couches inside made it all the more cozy, and i wished i lived near enough to go to her classes. the owner was very nice. she even had a ball winder right there in the shop so i didn't have to do it by hand at home!!!!

Nice little yarn shop with a small, but beautiful selection. The gals in there definitely made me feel welcome - and I found a couple of skeins of cashmere that will go home to Texas with me for a reasonable sum.
Again, the only complaint I have is the lack of pricing on the skeins. Even if it was just a tag on the side of the bin, that would be helpful. Otherwise, I loved it.
