This is a nice shop with a good selection and nice helpful people. They'll let you browse without hovering over you and they'll provide tips if you want them to.

Great place! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff--helpful, but not hovering. Nice, bright space with table and chairs in the center.

The Creative Stitch in Hingham MA is the best knitting store I've seen anywhere. It has a great selection and the prices are in line with the internet yarn stores. But The Creative Stitch is much more than a yarn store. It is a resource for knitters of all experience levels. The women who work at the Creative Stitch are knowledgeable enough to provide support to the novice and the experienced knitter, they are familiar with the yarn to the extent that they can offer opinions about swapping out brands and types and patterns. Their knowledge is not textbook, they are experienced knitters who wear their own creations, offer opinions about colors, types of yarn and wearability of yarn and pattern combinations. They are also genuinely interested and excited about the accomplishments of their customers.
Whether you are looking for a specific yarn, help with a project or if you just want to sit and enjoy pleasant company, the Creative Stitch is the best knitting store on the South Shore.
