I was disappointed with service and with selection. Called to verify that something was in stock before going - got there and was told they hadn't carried it for MONTHS. My children were spoken to harshly, also. Not a place that meets my needs.

I had excellent service and found some great sock yarn. I love the hand dyed stuff and everyone was very friendly and helpful. A small cozy place, but lots packed into it!

I buy a lot of my spinning fibre from The Black Lamb and have been pleased with every business transaction. Laurie is very honest and knowledgeable. As for scrappyknits comment, I can't imagine Laurie speaking harshly unless perhaps the kids were having problems keeping their hands to themselves.

The black lamb is full of beautiful yarn and lots of free knowledge. I leave inspired everytime. I have learned so much about natural fibres and knitting from the store owner. Learning is a good thing, but sometimes like scrappyknits kids, it is easy to learn disrespect. Maybe take your kids to a playground instead of a yarn shop to play.

I stumbled on the Black Lamb a couple of years ago, and through that website made the decision to learn to spin. That simple decision has started me on a fibre journey that has inspired me to start my own business with fulled purses. Laurie has been a huge source of encouragement and knowledge. A visit to her store always results in new things to add to the "stash", as well as new information to help me. Laurie is so generous, and is committed to inspiring others develop their fibre passions!

This shop is amazing! It is stocked with all sorts of yarn, fibre for spinning & above all, amazing assistance from the owner Laurie. I had stopped spinning for about 15 years--Laurie told me to come in with my wheel, she tuned it up for me, gave me a lesson, and I have been going ever since for all sorts of beautiful fibre and her generous & patient assistance. This week, I took a rug hooking class from her, and again, she was patient, helpful, and fueled my enthusiasm (not that I needed any fuel!) I have tried to move into her basement filled with oodles of bags of fibre, and freshly dyed skeins of sumptuous yarn---but to no avail!

I have had nothing but fabulous service from Laurie, both in person and via mail order. She has brought in items at my request as well. I always am inspired by a trip to The Black Lamb and leave with much more than just my purchases....encouragement, knowledge and techniques are generously dispensed. I took a class from Laurie and learned an incredible amount. I just wish she lived around the corner from me!
