This is a mill shop in the truest sense of the word - as although there is a small shop area, much of the yarn is warehoused.
There is a good supply of luxury yarns, and books, and crafts such as felting are catered for.

I went here for the first time just a few weeks ago, and my word, it is big.
The books, luxury yarns, other craft supplies are all in a few rooms to the side of the mill, and there is a good selection in the small space. Here you will also find the sofa, and the drinks machine.
However, the main attraction is the mill. I was amazed to find that they just let you wander around their warehouse, filling your bag with yarn. There is an excellent selection, and a good variety of fibres. A lot of it is coned, making it suitable for weaving and machine knitting, as well as hand knitting and crochet.
I really was impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The receptionist mentioned that two ladies had flown up to Leeds/Bradford from Southampton to visit. I can well see why

Please be aware that you are displaying the wrong opening times. I have just checked the website and the mill is open Monday - Friday 9-5 and only four weekends per year, the next being 6-7 September 2008, unsure of times.

I love Texere, simply because it has such a wide range of yarns, from the very expensive and luxurious to the workaday cheaper yarns, and a great deal in between- in short, something for every knitter and every budget. Their own brand yarns are good quality and value and there is a large range of luxury yarns from manufacturers including Noro and Artesano.
There are lots and lots of patterns and also books for knitting and other fibre crafts and textile arts.
