In theory, I like the idea of a yarn shop on Main Street. However, the owner is so unwelcoming and condescending that I drive (out of my way) elsewhere to get my knitting supplies.

While I find the selection fine, the service leaves a lot to be desired. On a special order, I paid in advance, waited three months for the yarn to come in, only to call and be told that it wasn't ordered and when I said to cancel the order was told the store policy wouldn't allow a special order to be canceled . . . that wasn't ordered. Another time, I was looking for a book to buy that was hard to get, but there was only one in stock and the owner was reading it. Needless to say, I won't got back ever.

I love this store. The selection of yarns is like nothing else in the valley. I have frequently placed orders and am amazed at how fast they arrive. The owner is helpful without being aggressive or pushy. I love to quietly brose through her back room of patterns. The store has the usual classes on a Tuesday evening, great for working knitters. However I do know she is happy to offer one on one attention if that suites a new knitter or a knitter with a problem. In a nut shell I think this store is almost more an art experience than just a kraft shop. I suggest you give this one a try.
