Extremely high end store. The person working there when I went in greeted me when I came in, answered the few questions I had, and was overall quite pleasant. The store was aesthetically pleasing, if not as cozy as most yarn stores, but they had a fabulous selection of high end yarns. A really good "vacation yarn store", perhaps not an everyday store, unless you happen to be someone who makes quite a bit of money but still has time to knit.

Beautiful shop, even from an architectural standpoint, as it is located in an old brownstone. I happened upon them during a summer sale, and was amazed at the variety and quality of the stock. Purchased Anny Blatt, some Filatura, and some Teva Durham yarn. I will definitely be returning. The owner and staff that were there were very accomodating, I will definitely be returning. Most amazing yarn I noticed: cashmere Koigu !!

Unlike the previous two comments, I did not have such a great experience. I found the shop to be dark and dreary, and the little seating that exists, uncomfortable. In spite of there only being 3 customers, and 1 person sitting at the table knitting, the 3 sales associates did not greet me, nor offer any assistance. I asked several questions, but was told that with the sale yarn you are "really on your own." I explained that I was fairly new to knitting and needed guidance, but was told that if I bought yarn on sale that I would not be entitled to any help! This was a far cry from the other shop that I frequent regularly, where help is abundant no matter what you buy! In fact, they walked away from me because I was considering sale yarn (and had accumulated a rather large pile to purchase!) and not regular priced yarn. When I asked about a pattern, book, and "kit" that had appeared on their website, they were very slow to pull it out and not at all helpful, and totally unaware of what their website had highlighted and had to offer. I put the yarns back into the bins, placed the book on the table, and walked out without purchasing anything. In the past year since I have begun knitting, I have purchased a tremendous amount of yarn from other shops including skeins that were $50 and up. Too bad for them. Their loss!
