WONDERFUL knit shop! Helpful staff and very welcoming environment. Stop in at open knit, new people accepted with open arms!

I was vacationing in Door Co. and went to Spin. The store is AWESOME! I love the archtecture of the old bank building, it fits to a yarn store perfectly; I wish I could have been there for open knit. The selection is extensive and the staff is very kind and welcoming! I will be back again.

This is a lovely place. The ambiance is just right; full of wonderful yarn and helpful staff. It feels good just to walk in the door. I have found many treasures here and look forward to every visit.

My friend and I can't drive north to Washington Island without making a stop at Spin on the way up and on the way home. They have not only beautiful yarn, a large assortment of books, but also plenty of knitted display items to capture the yarn. I wish I lived closer than 3 hours away. Trudi

Not to be missed. Great assortment of beautiful knitting bags, unique patterns, buttons, super high quality yarn.

What a great place! The selection was terrific--shelves and shelves of yarns of all blends and colors, bags, books, and a variety of prices from reasonable to spendy. I had to practice some serious restraint and I still easily spent over $100 (got 9 skeins, a card, and a pack of yarn bras. Yes, yarn bras). They have a frequent buyer card and when it's been completed, you get $30 off your purchase (I think that's how it goes), which is really nice. The atmosphere was also quite pleasant. They had an open knitting session in the back room, and a few ladies were gathered. The cashier (owner?) was also helpful, but not at all overbearing. I'm not a local, but will be stopping by next time I'm in the area.
p.s.
The building used to be a bank and they've turned the old vault into another yarn room. Very cool!

I was vacationing in Door County just last week, and needed a Fiber Fix. I found this wonderful store and could not have been more thrilled. The old bank building itself was beautiful, but the yarn store was packed with yarns of all kinds!! She had a wonderful selection of books, magazines, needles. Both of the gals there were very helpful. The store was relaxing and fun just to walk through. I did end up buying some yummy yarns!! Would have loved to have bought more. I don't get to Door County often, but this store is on my list!!! Wonderful!!

Spin is reason enough to go to Door County. (This from a California girl.) I have had the pleasure of visiting the shop twice - both times were thrilling. Spent more than I should have, but how can you "knot" when you're in such an exciting venue.
All the comments made about the shop and the owner and the selection of things are true and correct. Hope you all got a peak upstairs at the surreal knitting areas. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

Visited SPIN this past weekend and I concur that it is a Fabulous shop filled with all the best: friendly service, wonderful displays, and the yarn. Everything you could want. Books, patterns. Truly a lovely place. A must stop in Door County and a reason to go there!

Leaving our yearly knitting camp in SisterBay we stopped into Spin last Thurs am. As always, I bought way more than I was going to, but how can you not. Everything is so beautiful and placed out so that you just have to take it home w/you. I live in Boston, so had to ship everything home....Can't wait til next year.

Can I just pick up this store and move it near me? Hands down, my favorite knitting store ever. I would be in heaven if I lived nearby. Beautiful building, great book selection, fabulous yarns, and the most amazing rooms for open knitting.

Do you carry Plymouth Yarns? I'm looking for knitcol color number #49. I'll be coming up from Chicago on Monday. I need 6 balls if you have it.
Thanks so much.

Do you happen to have anything new from Classic elite that would have this striped cardigan in it? I'm sure it must be for fall.
Here is a picture of it:

Looking for the book and yarn if it is available yet.

What a great yarn store with super friendly help. I am not much more than an intermediate knitter, but I noted lots of yarns I was not familiar with along with tried and true Rowan, Dream in Color, etc. There were tons of tempting pattern books and knitted sweater samples (I bought a Rowan book along with some of their green-friendly yarn).
The building is beautiful--former Bank of Sturgeon Bay--with a gorgeous restored ceiling.
If you are in the area, please go there and support this fantastic local business!!!

Great shop! Tried to find it last year and did find it this year ,just 2 weeks ago. It was a rainy September day and this was the perfect place to spend a few hours.
Yarn selection is great and the staff worker was very friendly and knowledgeable. I'm already planning my next trip to the "Door" in November and a friend and I will be going directly to Spin when we arrive.

When I need a fix, this is the place! Kind of a "if they don't have it, you don't need it" kind of a place with a very helpful and welcoming staff - and customers!
Guys, this isn't one of those yarn shops where they stop and stare at you because you're a guy. While the welcoming mood is definitely set by the owner and staff, the old bank building lends a masculine balance to the energy - so you won't feel your masculinity draining away - LOL
You have to check it out!
