I visited Gatlinburg with my family this summer, and happened to stumble upon a small ad for this shop. I'm so glad I went! It's on the second floor of the building, and be aware - you have to walk through a fishing supply store to get to the yarn shop. The Spinnery is filled with knitting, weaving and spinning yarns, fibers and supplies, all beautifully displayed and organized. If you're in the Gatlinburg area and are craving a fiber fix, head over to the Smoky Mountain Spinnery!

Great place to shop for yarn as there is a yummy selection. Owner is extremely nice and helpful. If you are in the area don't miss it.

Being a knitter and a spinner this shop covers it all!! Nancy offers SO much in her shop to cover all my fiber needs, and she's a WONDERFUL person too! She even let me HOLD $300 worth (exactly 1 oz) of Vicuna fiber! This shop offers it all...including her Hubby's shop at the other end, I love to fish as well! I will return again and again!

This is my LSS! (Local Spinning Store) I've been nothing but pleased with any of my purchases from the Spinnery. I bought my wheel (a Majacraft Rose) there and quite a bit of fiber from there in the past. Good selection of dyed merino and colonial, but check out the exotic blends in the neat science lab case and her alpaca.

I love this store, my husband and I hike and usually go to the Smokies every few years. This shop is always on my togoto list. Very helpful, good fibery things! Something for everyone, and a fly fishing shop next door for your hubby.

I saw her ad in a little book and WOW..one step into the shop and you are there for hours...Nancy is so helpful and has so many yarns and knitting and weaving supplies you will love..and she teaches spinning classes..enjoy...

I found this store on Knitmap and visited while on vacation. Having been in probably hundreds of yarn stores, this is probably the very best. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Incredible natural fibers and yarns. I came away with white yak yarn, the first I have ever seen in a store. Store also has buffalo and qiviut along with lots of alpaca. Store also carries spinning supplies with a fabulous and extensive natural fiber selection. Probably not the place you would sign up for a class but owner offers one-on-one for reasonable price. Will most definitely go back when in area.

My only negative....this store is in Tennessee and I live in Illinois! Whenever I get to travel back down to the Smokies, this store is on my must visit list. Last time I WALKED from downtown G'burg because the bus never came. Nothing was going to keep me from visiting my favorite out of town store. I always find yarn that no one here in the Chicago area seems to carry. Wonderful store, wonderful owners, wonderful experience. YOU MUST GO HERE if you are in the area.
