I had very mixed feelings when I entered the store. Nice selection of yarns. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not sure why, but I have not been back since last Summer when they first opened.

I think they carry pretty much every color of Cascade 220 (and at a reasonable price, too). I think this is probably the shop's biggest draw for me.

Big knitting table in back; when I was there a group of friends and employee were talking about some personal stuff ("my therapist says," etc.), which made me feel kind of uncomfortable. Kind of a downside to "friendly" shops, I guess.

Owner was going kind of howler-monkey on the phone at a vendor or rep when I was there, too.

Not impressed. I am a intermediate knitter and allergic to wool. Owner offered me no alternatives and was curt. She spoke loud enough so that her knitting goup could be in on our conversation. I asked about a "blend" and you would have thought I said something vulgar. Will not go back as she couldn't be bothered unless I was willing to spend a couple of hundred dollars on yarn. Not a welcoming atmosphere.

It's funny. I keep reading reviews that say the staff or owner were unfriendly and discourteous and unhelpful. I went to Slip Knot and I was apprhensive because of the reviews I read, but I went in and the lady in the back immediately jumped up and asked me what I needed. She proceeded to explain to me how the shop was organized so I could find things and, upon finding that I was a new knitter, showed me a crap load of different kinds of yarns and told me how to wash them and let me feel them and showed me samples of certain yarns knit up and explained a bunch of stuff to me. She even complimented my knitting (I was wearing my first project and my boyfriend likes to tell people I knit it myself, he's so proud lol) and was gushing about how I taught myself. Maybe they have off days or something, but my experience was very positive. And the store is adorable and has a great atmosphere. I can't wait to have an excuse to go back there.
