They have a wonderful staff and a nice environment. They also have a kid's play area that is stocked with toys and is easy to keep an eye on while you shop. Nice selection of both novelty yarn and more basic stuff. They also carry needlepoint as well as stuff for knitting and crochet. Easy free parking too.

I last went to the Yarn Gallery for a winter sale. They celebrated by having wine and cheese for the customers and were very friendly.

I like that they have a lot of Patons yarns that I can't find in other stores. As the previous poster said, there were a lot of basics, which are nicer than the big box stores but less expensive than high end stores.

This store is one of my favorites, but I rarely ever get to it. They have a fantastic selection and probably the biggest selection of Noro in the area. Lots of Cascade yarns as well. The staff have always been friendly and helpful.

I went in to the store with my husband who, when entered was greeted by smiles by the red-haired woman who works there, but as soon as she saw me behind him, she had a repulsed look on her face. I have not been back since. Every other aspect of the store is wonderful. I just wish she was not there.

Great shop and very friendly staff. A place to go to again when I am in the area.

One of my top 3 LYS in the Seattle area.
Great GREAT selection, a huge chunk of it priced in my own range - and pretty stuff too, not generic ANYTHING. They really know how to pick their fibers.
The staff is courteous, attentive (but not too attentive - they know when to let you browse!), extremely competent knitters, wonderful and non-obtrusive salespeople. I have never been pushed or hard-sold on anything. One of the young women even showed me how to wind my purchases on the swift and ball winder. The owner, Virginia, is a masterful knitter and a very friendly and encouraging person. Back when I was a 2-month knitter, she encouraged me to keep on with dpns and sold me a very complicated Dale of Norway skill pattern to help me go on with my studies. I can't say enough good about her or the shop. Tremendous place.
I do wish they were open on Mondays, but we can't have everything ;-0)
Double thumbs-up!

LL&P,
WireWoman

This yarnshop is just so filled, that you could spend a day just browsing. Huge store, with everything (also cheaper yarn). Many major brands, but a bit too much acrylics and nylons.

LOVE THEM. The selection is great, and the staff is awesome. They are passionate about yarn and won't hesitate to steer you away from a bad purchase which I appreciate. A couple years ago one of them sat me down for hours teaching me how to cable. Their selection of books is outstanding and they have punch cards :)

One of my favorites in WA!
