Notes
ReBelle specializes in alternative fibers with a wide selection of hemp, soy, and bamboo -- many of which are vegan friendly -- but doesn't skimp on the standard woolly fare either. You'll also find supplies for dying, needle-felting, embroidery, and spinning (fibers only), as well as a section of locally made or dyed yarns and fibers. The back part of the store is devoted to natural living and family items -- organic clothes, herbal medicines, and the like. The staff is friendly, helpful, and genuinely enthusiastic about what they sell. Come in on a Sunday afternoon and say, "Hi!" to the local SnB, which meets here from 1-5.

mmmMalabrigo was what brought me in, and not only do they have a nice selection but they had received a new shipment the day I was there; they opened the boxes in front of me and invited me to go through the new colors with them. How nice! I'll definitely return next time I'm in Lexington.

Wonderful yarn shop but the address is wrong. It's at 371 SOUTH Limestone, not North Limestone.

They didn't have much in the way of selection last time I was there. It seemed to be more of a random stuff store that happened to have some yarns. Maybe I just caught it on an off day, but the prices for some of the yarns seemed kind of crazy, but they were also yarns I wasn't familiar with, so if the kind of prices i saw were normal, I wasn't aware. I'll probably go here again sometime, but I tend to favor another store in the area.

Nice yarn shop near the campus of the University of Kentucky. I visited from Columbus, Ohio. It was a little smaller than I am used to, but it was cute. Lots of Cascade and Malabrigo. Some really cute accessories. Prices are about average. The person staffing the shop when I was in there said hi, but didn't offer to help me or otherwise really even talk to me until I checked out.

My favorite shop in town. The women who own the shop are always happy to help with any questions I might have, and they help with skill and good humor. Good selection of quality yarns, and I love how many local artists/craftspeople are represented in their inventory.
