Lovely yarn, but if you're looking for the basics, it's probably not the best shop. They seem to have a lot of specialty yarn and not much on the basics. When I was there in the middle of the day on a Friday, it was an absolute zoo, and difficult to get anyone to look at you.

They are unhelpful, sometimes just plain rude, and their merchandise is generally overpriced. And the yarn is organized by color, not by brand or type of yarn, so you can't find a specific yarn without searching the whole store. Really a pain.

I visited this store last Wed., 5/5/2009. I was in the area and saw the large sign, and thought to check it out to see if they had anything interesting for a Mother's day gift for my mom. I am not a knitter and am in my mid-twenties, so I was in need of some help.
I entered the store and saw a large table of ladies knitting to the left. They all looked up from what they were doing to stare at me for a good minute and then go back to what they were doing. I was in the store for 10 minutes without anyone speaking a word to me, even 'Hello'. At one point a woman who obviously worked there got up from the table, went behind the counter and messed with her computer for a minute, still not speaking a word to me. I was hesitant to interrupt their conversation and ask for help, since I really had no idea what I was looking for.
If anyone had taken the time to speak to me, they would have discovered that I have a well-paying job and was interested in making a good impression on my mother by taking an interest in one of her favorite hobbies. Instead, I was made to feel like I was an uninvited guest at someone's house.
After telling my mother this story, she told me about this website so I could vent my frustration. Please take the time to help the 'rest of us'. We're people too.
