This is the closest yarn store to where I live, and the one I go to least. I know there are people who love this store, but I find the vibe to be very unwelcoming. Almost a "why did you bother coming in here" attitude if you want to look around, and the yarn is not especially well organized or extensive in terms of selection.

This is also the closest yarn store to where I live and I had never been in due to all the negative things I've read about it on the internet. I took a chance last week and went in and was SO surprised. The elderly couple that owns it was super friendly, super helpful, and super cute. They were great! Go in here with an open mind and positive attitude and I think you'll be surprised. They have a charming little selection of yarn too.

I had a totally positive experience at this yarn store. The elderly gentleman was very friendly and helpful, and totally gracious. It was a 100% will-return experience. So TOTALLY contrary to many of the negative reviews on the internet.

I've been going here for years, and I love it. Sometimes Don and Janet can seem a little grumpy, but once you talk to them a bit, they are very sweet and funny. Lots of people just come in to knit, talk, and get their mistakes fixed. The shop is small, but the yarns they carry are lovely and they are very helpful with pattern choices and problem solving.

They will teach you to knit for free, and you can just keep coming back until you get it. Lots of local kids have learned here.

I happened upon this store on a quiet weekday afternoon. After helping me pick out some gorgeous sock yarn, the owners (a married couple) were happy to chat with me and show me some different sock techniques. I don't live in the area, but I'd definitely go back if I was around.

These people were very rude when I went in. They acted as though I was interrupting their quiet time.

I too was not happy with this store. I was told they had a set of needles in stock when they did not. Then I felt as though they were a bit rude when I showed my disdain for being lied to, especially after driving all the way from Lynn.

This is my least liked yarn store I have ever been to. They have a totally weird, not-so-good selection, but the worst thing abut the store is the customer service. I think it may be different if you are a young-looking knitter: they assumed we didn't know what we were doing there, didn't know how to knit, didn't know what yarn was, etc. They are so condescending, I was shocked that anyone could run a business like that and I left even though there were a couple things I wanted. I didn't even try to talk to the salespeople when we went -- they just presented us with a barrage of snootiness. When I lived in walking distance from the store, I would drive into Cambridge and Boston to go elsewhere.
